such an amazing hidden gem in elsternwick that im upset i haven't been to earlier! tempura japanese cafe has an extensive menu with a surprisingly large amount of vegan options. the staff are all lovely and service was very quick. the food was incredible, their mock chicken is some of the best myself and my partner have ever had. the serving sizes are also really big, especially given the low prices of each meal. i will definitely be coming back, and i urge everyone in the area to try this place, vegan or not! Vegetarian options: many vegan and vegetarian options available.
It was TOO SALTY and greasy. I am not sure about the other food but everything in the picture dongstsu, teriyaki chicken, Takoyaki was so so salty eventho i was literally starving I left the food. It wasnt even that cheap I am sorry but I have to write this review for people who dont like salty food
Katsu curry,salmon are so great! I love Japanese food. highly recommend

Staff are super friendly and I love all the options for vegans! I love Japanese food but sadly once I went vegan, there weren’t many options for Japanese food. However this place is a god send.
Astonishingly yummy vegan and meat options! The staff are all so sweet, they were excited to welcome me for the first time dining in instead of uber eats, and even though they were hugely busy with online orders, our huge order for 3 people was very quick like less than 10 mins and all delicious and perfect! Always very friendly and the food is fresh and good. I love this place. EDIT after some time and especially after buying several sushi rolls in the biggest shopping mall in Mel for almost double the price, much smaller that my child didn't want to eat after the first bite,I came back here and they made us fresh,huge and tasty sushi rolls. Kid ate them all. What can I say, other than I m happy to be close by!

Honestly I don’t get the good reviews. I ordered an Oyako don for pick up and it tasted horrible. Chicken is super dry, there is barely any egg or sauce. Sorry to say but I won’t be coming back
Small simple cafe with really enjoyable flavourful foods. Really awesome and well prepared. The place is run by a family and they take good care of the food and their customers. We sat in. There are three tables and bar eating by the window with some more tables outside. I had a Katsu Bento Box which was delicious. The place isn't accessible. It does have a restroom.
