such an amazing hidden gem in elsternwick that im upset i haven't been to earlier! tempura japanese cafe has an extensive menu with a surprisingly large amount of vegan options. the staff are all lovely and service was very quick. the food was incredible, their mock chicken is some of the best myself and my partner have ever had. the serving sizes are also really big, especially given the low prices of each meal. i will definitely be coming back, and i urge everyone in the area to try this place, vegan or not! Vegetarian options: many vegan and vegetarian options available.
Quick and friendly service. I have eaten at many Japanese/Asian restaurants but their food it truly the best. Affordable as well and good quality food.Food: 5/5
It was TOO SALTY and greasy. I am not sure about the other food but everything in the picture dongstsu, teriyaki chicken, Takoyaki was so so salty eventho i was literally starving I left the food. It wasnt even that cheap I am sorry but I have to write this review for people who dont like salty food
Food was delicious. I had the Vegan Katsu Curry and vegetable gyoza. The staff was friendly and our meal was served promptly which I appreciated as I was hungry! We sat outside since they were packed inside but it was a nice day out. I was happy to find they had plenty of vegan options here.Food: 4/5
Had some takeaway from Tempura cafe and was disappointed by the small slivers of salmon on my nigiri. At $2 a piece it’s more generously portioned at the food court not to mention cheaper, unlikely to return
I’ve come here a couple times but my partner and I have come here for our second time together. Wonderful, bright and happy service as always and great vegan options for us as per always. We have ordered from this place for over 2+ years and they never disappoint! The food is always hot, delicious and filling. The vegan options are amazing, with plenty of options. Would highly recommend trying tempura either take away or dine in, and the team are always lovely. A staple in this household and will never stop ordering from them
This is my go-to Japanese place. They have an extensive vegan menu and everything I’ve tried is 10/10 delicious; the agadashi tofu in particular is phenomenal who knew tofu could be such a star. The prices are really reasonable and the staff are lovely too.
I ordered lunch for a work meeting for 12 people and not only was the food fantastic, but they delivered the lunch and it was right on time. Saved me so much time and everyone raved about how delicious it was. I would highly recommend this to everyone
Tempura Japanese Cafe is my all time favourite place to eat in Melbourne. I drive an hour, sometimes more just to get the Vegan Teriyaki Chicken. The service is great, always welcomed with a friendly face. Thank you kindly Vegetarian options: There’s multiple vegan options & they are DEVINE
