McDonald's are in the real estate business and this Elsternwick location is no exception. Southbound just off the nepean highway in Melbourne, it's a great stop off for a quick bite or summer treat on a hot day. Staff are always prompt and the self check out kiosks are fantastic.
Atmosphere was very relaxed and not very crowded. The table and floor was very clean not like other outlet that full of mess. The ice chocolate was very surprise me because in the city outlet was taste weird. I paid same price but elstrrnwick outlet serve beverage was taste good with the cream on top
Ok McDonalds, sometimes a little slow and busy. Sometimes food is poorly put together and for some reason they always give food in takeaway bags even if you order to dine in.
The kids running this place are what made it great. One girl stood with an ice pack on her shoulder, serving customers. That's stamina. Another swept the floors, doing an absolutely thorough job. My hot chocolate was a bit too hot my raisin toast was perfect and they gave me 2 containers of butter, thank you! I'd come here again. The teenagers on staff were friendly, it was busy - yet orderly & organised, it was kept clean and the food was great. Parking: Go through the petrol station to get to the store. Or use the Nepean Hwy service road right after crossing Glenhuntly Road. I don't know how many parking spaces there were, I parked in disabled - right outside the door. Wheelchair accessibility: The front door is just as heavy to swing open as all the McDonald's store doors. Wide doorway, gently sloping concrete access ramp, wide spaces between tables all the way to the service counter. There was a dedicated disabled restroom but I didn't need to use it so I can't report.
The service is oaky. The room smells funny. The food is all right.
I ordered online because I had to be quick as I was on my lunch break. I ran in and grabbed the chicken burger from the counter and drove back to work only to find that the “chicken burger” had the bottom half of the bun only, no sauce, the chicken patty, a couple of bits of droopy lettuce. I quickly drove back there and handed it to the employee who just said with an expressionless face, “Sorry about that” while handing me a replacement and walking away. This all happened at 11.30 too so it wasn’t even the lunch rush yet. ‍
Late night ordering has gone from bad to worst at this restaurant! At first it was the deliveries getting messed up, so I decided to order via maccas app and pick up instead, and it's the same for pick ups as well if not worse! I ordered on the app and then paid for it on the app too, but then upon reaching I'm told that the system is getting reset and it can't be made for another 10-15 minutes. Okay fine so I waited and went back after a while and then they started making it. Then an irate lady arrives at the counter and says they can't make toasties as they ran out of it and will make the rest of the order. So I ask about a refund as I've already paid for it, and she gets her manager in. The manager advises they can't do refunds for app orders and need to contact support or something. I said the voucher would be ideal as it's not my fault, so he agrees and provides me with the $10 voucher. After all this a third staff member appears at the window and provides me with the toasties which the previous lady and the manager both denied to having or preparing it. The previous lady notices this and doesn't seem happy that the last person provided me with that and asks him to get the voucher back which I happily give. I mean why all this confusion for one order? What's the point of making someone go through all this late night who's hungry and desperate for a meal. What's the point of such unprofessionalism?
We ordered 10 chicken nuggets and it’s very cold and old when we got it. Also, there were 2 veggies nuggets mixed in the box…try to turn us as a vegan lol They also forgot to put our burger in the bag and they end up to make us one as we ordered. If we didn’t check the bag we would not have known it.
Food was very slow to be served. Most burgers were completely wonky as though thrown together by a drunk - however the Big Mac was assembled absolutely impeccably, aligned perfectly... Weird.Food: 3/5
This maccas is cutting some serious corners. I received a large drink that wasn’t quite 3/4 full, once in store had to repeatedly ask that they fill the sundae to the top. They first gave it to me half full. They also sent me a $5 voucher when their soft serve machine was apparently off for cleaning but I ordered a McFlurry which is $5.75 So, they’re pocketing that and definitely saving on significantly smaller portions.
