I attended for a hernia repair. My attendance had originally been scheduled for 12 pm, but I received a call asking if I could arrive by 10 am, so I was at the hospital by 9:30 am.nnI was admitted and waiting in the admissions area by around 10:30 am. By 12:20 pm I still hadn’t received any update, despite seeing other patients being admitted and taken through. Eventually I went to ask a nurse what was happening, only to be told that my surgery had been rescheduled. Nobody had informed me.nnThe nursing staff were excellent throughout, and my surgeon did a fantastic job…the operation was a complete success, and I’m very grateful for the care I received.nnUnfortunately, the communication around my admission was poor and unnecessary. A simple update explaining the delay or change in schedule would have made a huge difference. I’m also feeling a strong expectation that I stay overnight despite my recovery progressing well enough for discharge.nnOverall, the clinical care was excellent, but the communication before surgery significantly detracted from what otherwise would have been a positive experience.

This is a Ramsay Hospital and it lives up to the Ramsay Values. We entered the door and was met by the Volunteer who provided all advice we needed to book in for my op. We were then run through a serious of checks to prepare for the op. Everyone showed the greatest of care and professionalism. Before I knew it I was in the anti room of the op theatre. There I saw the  surgeon Dr Michael Bryant who outlined the operation again and the Anesthetist Dr Fletcher who again checked everything with me. Next I was waking up form the surgery with another nurse. I was then transferred to the ward under the supervision of my nurse. Great care by Sandy until the finish of her shift. Then Sophia look after me all night. Could not do enough. Then cam Tara for my last day. I saw the surgeon who when through the on and was very happy to let me go home that afternoon. I was so happy no more pain down my right leg. My wife picked me up about 4 pm and off home. A bit of Op pain in the back but nothing down the right leg. I received the best treatment from start to finish. Thank you all so much. Ramsay you can be proud of SCUPH and all the people involved. I must also thank DVA for providing the care and their partnership with Ramsay Hospitals.

I was admitted these last few days into Ward 5. I have nothing but praise to all the staff, doctors and nurses. From the moment I walk through the front door the lovely lady couldn't been more helpful. While waiting for surgery the nurse and doctors were so encouraging. Then up to Ward 5 surgical ward where again the nurses and those in the theatre were exceptional. I am not sure if im allowed to mention names but I would have to put everyone's name here. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I was admitted to Actute ward in the early hours of Monday morning with severe Hiatus Hernia pain. The competent care received was outstanding by wonderful Nurses who provided immediate relief. I am disappointed not to recall the names of all the Acute team.nIn subsequent recovery in Ward 3B 15, again high standards were consistently demonstrated.nParticular thanks To Ben, Chelsea, Jeff and their diligent and considerate colleagues.nHighly recommended by an an impatient patient.nKen

Just a note of thanks. I was in for day surgery recently and from the 1st person I met I was treated exceptionally. All the staff were wonderful. Just a shout out to Shelly from preop, Barbara the anaesthetic assistant, my anaesthetist, my doctor and also Tom in recovery. You were all wonderful and caring people. Many thanks.
