Having worked here as a staff member and now being a patient at SCUH I can say that it is a nice new and clean hospital with a refreshing difference. However design and outline for elderly, frail or injured could use improvement for the long distances required to walk throughout. Horizontal escalators perhaps? Staff have been for the majority competent and friendly... having your own room too most times is a huge bonus and much appreciated. Parking is a cost you have to factor in $15 a day however when you consider world class health care is given free at the cost of medicare this is a small price to pay really and concessions are available for certain eligible people.
My Mum was a patient in this hospital for a lot of the year on and off.. The lovely nurses primarily Ward 5C Doctor Andrew Frazer and the team of Immunologists were incredible. A heartfelt thank you for looking after my Mum so well- she felt both physically and mentally safe under your care. We will be forever grateful. A special mention also to the team of staff putting calls through and making communication so much easier.
Last week we have been to Sunny Coast hospital. The customer service was brilliant. We didn’t have to wait for a long time. The doctors and nurses were caring and nice. There’s a lovely nurse, Grace who was so kind, caring and lovely. She helped us a lot. The shift doctor was also great.
My wife recently attended the Extended Day Surgery Unit as an emergency. From the moment we received the phone call for admission, the service provided has been absolutely superb. The clinical and nursing care was the best. Onwards & Upwards, sincere thanks to all staff involved .
Just got home from Emergency ward 10/07/22 6pm. I was there 4-5 hours. The nurses, Doctors, Wardies, X-Ray team, Ultrasound man were all sensational, absolutely lovely. All were friendly, caring, professional and made my painful and a bit scary experience as nice as it could be in those circumstance. Thank you everyone for treating me so well and kindly despite you all being so very busy.
Went to ER, the triage nurse had no empathy and it was humiliating having to answer the questions in front of everyone at triage for a possible miscarriage. Privacy would have been nice instead of having everyone stare and listen. Dr Hamid was amazing, so caring given the situation. He definitely made up for the lack of care at the start.
I recently had the removal of Lvl 4 melanoma from my face plus work on the base of my neck through the Extended Day Day Surgery Unit - Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The process of procedure, quality of care and patient interaction was excellent, from nurses to surgical staff and including reception. You made a daunting experience into a reassuring moment. Thank you Chappies.
Excellent hospital with dedicated nursing staff, doctors and all medical services, the best you can ever wish for! I was admitted and treated with care and best possible outcome, no one could improve on. I am for ever grateful to these outstanding people at SCUHOSP! 6 stars out of 5 for all you!!! Thank you!
4and half days and cannot complain about 1 minute. Nurses and doctors were fantastic, food was lovely service people polite and happy. Thank you for all your help. Live to fight another day.
Came in at 1:30 am on a Saturday morning. Spent 6 hours waiting in emergency despite only 3 other patients in “Emergency” with me. Unfortunately I have had to visit this hospital 3 times in the last 3 months, I can not recommend this hospital to anyone. A 1.8 billion dollar hospital with “Emergency” room wait times of over 6 hours each visit I’ve had. No urgency in the “Emergency” department.
