Absolutely useless. I had time off work due to a lower back problem. Called to ask for a sick note. Receptionist said I had to be seen first. Face to face Appointment given a month later as that was the soonest they had by which point I had gone back to work. Receptionist had told me the sick note can be back dated. When I go to my appointment the doctor tells me he can't give me a sick note as I wasn't seen while I was off work bearing in mind their soonest appointment was a month later!! Complete waste of time and being told different things by different people.
This used to be a great Surgery Not anymore! No one answer phones you have to go down face to face Only to be told by Receptionist you have to tell her your symptoms first or you can't book an appointment!! I were so embarrassed that's if there are any available by a resident Doctor. You may get choice of a locum 3 weeks later Absolutely Shocking ! I feel the Receptionist is not helpful or sympathetic Iv been at this Surgery over 30 years Only ever saw Doctor Rosbottom Who was Amazing Since she left its gone Downhill fast !!
Been at this surgery my entire life and never struggled to get an appt. Whilst there is often a wait on the phone, when you do get through I’ve always found appointments to be offered within a short and reasonable time frame.
The receptionist that my grandmother spoke to was extremely rude and arrogant, not helpful in anyway. My grandmother rung over 200 times, 200 times! Throughout the day to get an appointment. She has heart conditions and has had a constant cough for the past 4 weeks after having the flu. She just keeps being told to ring back, she was belittled and then ranted at by said receptionist about the difference between a receptionist and a secretary, when my nan said secretary. She was extremely rude throughout the entire conversation trying to make out my grandmother was being aggressive and shouting at her, no my grandmother is a very softly spoken and kind person after that she was then told she was going to be reported by us and she replied with shouting "oh whatever" down the phone and then hung up on her. Absolutely disgusting! Shameful human being.
Spent most of my morning trying to get through to cancel my appointment so it’s free for someone else to take as I have covid and don’t want to risk anyone. I have almost 90 attempts to get through. It’s utter madness and truly shocking.
Worse surgery ever. Don’t bother calling them. Doctors are too busy passing on unnecessary messages to the secretaries to free up time from their not so busy schedules to see patients. Disgusting!
It used to be the best practice, we chose to go to this one, even if it wasn't the closest to our place, but when good doctors left, it's an absolute joke. They tell you to ring at 8 a.m., then the line is engaged till 8.45, and just hung up immediately, and when you finally manage to speak to someone, there's no appointments left. New doctors have one advise - give it another 3-5 days and we'll see how it goes! Doesn't matter if it's about adult or child, been told to ring back when we'll have difficulty with breathing. The best thing with the practice is nurses team, these ladies are outstanding.
Used to be good, ever since Covid they just don't care. won't review medications in time so you never get it, no chance of a face to face appointment even in serious situations. Need to change ASAP if you're still with them.
I have been a patient with St George's surgery since 1995. Not one negative experience, always helpful and supportive. This includes the manager, receptionist, Dr's, nurse practitioners, nurses & clinic staff. Sad to hear my GP will be retiring soon, but wish her the best of health and happiness. The Dr's at this surgery, build a rapport and get to know the person as opposed to just treating the patient. Incredible team.
Spent 25 minutes on hold trying to get a prescription. Then they take 2 days just to send a prescription to the pharmacy and yet my old doctors did it the same day. The receptionists are extremely rude and make you feel extremely uncomfortable. I am now leaving the practice as they ruin the experience which is a shame as the doctors themselves are nice.
