This is my local & honestly they have always come through for me whenever I’m looking for decorations for Halloween, birthdays, Christmas or arts & crafts! Amazing balloon & party section & the team has always been friendly to me! No dramas when it comes to returns & easy parking just our front! Highly recommend!
Really enjoy the Spotlight trips!! You go in for one thing and come out with 5!! My experience with staff has been amazing, they know their stuff!! Would like to see less mess tho- maybe more amazing staff!!
Extremely rude employees, especially "Ibrahim" name. I returned some materials that I purchased yesterday about $600 and did not cut or use at all, and I also got the receipt. Their employee named 'Ibrahim,' who did not have a name tag and was called by others as 'Ibrahim,' stated that due to hygiene issues, I can not accept your return. Then I tried to explain that the product you mentioned is not food or cosmetic. Then he became angry and shut me out, saying, "Do you want to see my manager, okay, I'll call him." Meanwhile, I was stunned and had no idea what to say. The manager arrived and informed her that "we do not accept the materials, right?" The manager took no action and simply left us. Then some employees declared that they needed some staff for the front on speaker, and he abruptly warned me that the manager does not wish to accept my returns. He did not apologies to me, he shut out and disregarded me, and he did not respect at all to me. Furthermore, he left us with no hints for answers.
I like the fact that you can buy cloth and things to make clothes and costumes there, but you have to look hard to find actual bargains. The staff are friendly but, like most places these days, they are perpetually under-staffed. Stock can be displayed in a disorderly fashion, so you do have to look carefully to find what you are after. On the most recent occasion I shopped there, I did find what I needed, but I can't say it was cheap despite there being a 40% off sale. It is what it is; don't expect miracles. It's great this place exists when you need cloth and haberdashery.
Excellent deal. Fast order preparation. Good communication, although directions for collection unclear. Waited in line at front counter for ages, only to be greeted with substandard customer service, then directed to balloon/party area for Click n' Collect not advised of this in any communication. Waited in line for ages again, only to be served by Miss Precious with tallons for fingernails and a snotty attitude. Hopefully, won't have to frequent this store again.
Zero stars for the young large lady covered in tattoos and badges who works in balloon section / click and collect. 3 stars for the store in general. My sister and I had to laugh instead of getting upset- because the lady at click & collect was so rude it was almost funny- she must try very hard to be that rude. She rolled her eyes when we approached and I said hello and complimented her zombie costume, then in the middle of cutting to the chase asking to collect an order she TURNS AROUND as I'm in mid sentence. Her back to us, she starts filling 2 huge balloons with air and answers a phone call before speaking to us again. We just watch her in silence. She asks us again what we wanted, then takes her sweet time filling ANOTHER balloon??! before getting my order number and products from the shelf near her. That's 3 balloons and a phone call to another customer in the time I asked for my order and received it. Why would she even want us just standing there watching her like that? It was so awkward. Wouldn't she rather get me out of the way asap??? I wasn't in a rush but if I was she would've done my head in. Anyway- She asked for my ID which I produced and she didn't even look at it... it's like she was disappointed I had it lol. Sucks she's gotta show how much she hates her life at work. Pretend you're happy like the rest of us, what a jerk.
Absolutely terrible customer service today. It was quite obvious that I was looking for items as I had a list of supplies in my hand, but was completely ignored by the staff member in the yarn section. Twice I asked the person who was working in the yarn section where I could find simple weaving supplies, both times she just shrugged and said “no idea, never heard of it”; the second time I showed her the item on the spotlight website, but she still didn’t seem interested in helping. Looks like online shopping might be the way forward, rather than shopping at this store.
Brilliant place. Only problem I have is that I can't sew... Might need to learn. And these guys really need to organise their cushions properly. They are just a mess. Try and find 2 of the same cushion... Good luck.
Such a huge store. I check out the website before coming in, just incase something isn't stocked but it always seems to have what I need while other Brisbane stores seem to be out. Being a member has such perks! Lots of sale and reductions if you are a member. I always spend way more than I need to because I get so inspired and excited- there is always great deals. I went in the week before Christmas and it was busy expected. All the staff were run off their feet but I was so impressed because they were friendly and offered the advice I needed stopped me buying the wrong product- I am so glad they asked some questions. Everything you could need for your creative dreams- all in one place!
