The staff at the front desk were polite and efficient. The doctor I saw was very proactive in listening / testing / examining / medicating / explaining my condition. My one negative comment would be my appointment was almost 1 hour later than my booking.
I really like this medical centre. Really, I do. I have seen both Dr. Mondal and Dr. Sean Pham and you can tell there's a certain wisdom and deep insight to the personable approach they consider most appropriate to the patient they are speaking with. Very empathic, the both of them, and care about the patient in question's well being. Likewise- all correspondence and speaking experience I've had with the rest of the team has been professional and personable. Whilst I have a Uni GP I follow and a specialist- it's just so nice to have an after hours set of highly skilled and trained medical practitioners who know exactly what they're doing and have nothing but trust for them. Can't articulate how at ease this makes me feel so thank you.
Really disappointed this time. We’ve always had a positive experience here but unfortunately after tonight I’m not going back there again. I booked an appointment today with the receptionist. Confirmed the appointment. Husband took my son up tonight at 8:50pm to be told there was no appointment made. The dr didn’t want to know about it. My young child grazed his knee deep. We just wanted to get it checked. In my opinion I felt that considering they stuffed up the appointment, the least they could do for us was have a quick look at my sons knee. Appointment was late enough as it was. Husband and child ended up going home. Waste of time.
My son needed to doctor on Friday evening, the admin was very helpful and kind. When we got there, we were late and again the admin were understanding. We were impressed how our doctor listened and explained what my son needed. Overall we are very happy. Thank you!
Happy they could fit us in on a Sunday, the GP was running late by the afternoon and this meant we needed to kill 30+ mins in a shopping centre with a sick toddler near bedtime which wasn’t ideal, though understandable. The real concern was the GP though, he provided a script for penicillin before asking any questions or examining our little person. When I asked why he said he had heard a cough. I explained that he hadn’t been coughing and we were attending due to a persistent high fever only, he repeated that he had heard a ‘croupy cough’ and would need the medicine. He eventually did a quick examination temp, ears and back, admittedly baby was very upset, but I struggled to understand why the advice and prescription was being provided ahead of any questions about symptoms or examination. Felt like he was rushed and trying to hustle through to catch up perhaps.
First time visiting. Reception staff friendly, informative and helpful. Dr was on time, friendly & thorough. Pleasant experience, a couple dollars more than my local Smart Clinic and further away, but worth it.
Today was my first visit to SmartClinics Chermside. The staff on the front desk explained how fees are calculated which was nice to be told prior seeing the doctor. The doctor was so kind and respectful in telling me how to administer the medication. I will return. Thank you to all concerned.
I saw Dr SP after feeling unwell for five days. Sore throat, loss of voice and conjuctivitis, onset of both at the same time. No swabs were taken. I was prescribed an oral antibiotic plus eye drops. Two days later still in pain desperate to get hold of Dr SP. There was no appointments available but I should have been attended to immediately as this was a revisit! This is NOT acceptable. I was forced to attend the hospital on Rode Road. and the first question the attending doctor asked me "Was a swab taken by Dr SP to identify the cause of my illness?" When I answered "No" he was surprised and asked whether Dr SP missed the last three years of GP training? Three hours later with multi tests, swabs and chest x-ray I was prescribed pain relief plus antibiotic mouth gargle. I am questioning why Dr SP didn't prescribe these in the first place, saving me a lot of pain, hassle and money. I will not be back, sorry.
Our family has been coming to this clinic for over 10 years. It used to be always on time, caring doctors and bulk billing. Now it's always running late, the doctors keep leaving so there is no consistency and it's there is no bulk billing. It costs $88 just to get a repeat referral. Our family can no longer afford medical care.
Smart clinic chermside refused to prescribe covid anti viral to my 72yo mother who was a clinic patient and was eligible as per gov criteria because the only GP on duty had never met her in person. But also would not allow an in-person appt because she had covid. When I dared to question this decision that was risking the health of an elderly patient, the receptionist was extremely rude and laughed before hanging up on me when I asked for her name. I have made an official complaint with Smart Clinics and will be contacting the Health Ombudsman re the GP. ETA practice Manager Tony investigated the matter promptly and communicated well. Unfortunately the receptionist Chivali sp? lied to save her job and reported that I had been yelling and swearing which was not at all true. I understand the limitations of what can be done but be warned that the staff at this clinic may be rude, unprofessional and dishonest.
