Over 30 years shopping here. I still remember my jelly gumboots as a kid. We live in another state now but always make the visit to grab hubby's work boots when we are on the Coast. There are few family run stores left with such great service, and so many staff having been there decades. It's charming.
This place is true to type as it is tru value Masses of selections and the lady was most informative in my selection. A huge store that should suit the most discerning buyer. I reckon this place is good value Thank you.

The first time my partner and I went into the store the staff were extremely kind and helpful. We were looking for work boots and it was the last shop we went to at the end of the day and they were still happy to help. We were advised that we can return the boots if they were no good even after wearing them to work etc and the boot company would deal with the return, which is a big reason why we bought them - cost around $180. My partner wore them to work for 2 weeks and they started to hurt his feet and toes very badly, so we decided to return them. He tied them up properly and had a good walk around the store to make sure they were the right size, but they were no good after extended wear. We handed the boots to the front desk and went to look at other sizes/brands to swap. The owner walked up to us and extremely rudely/borderline yelling told us that we cannot return the boots as they have been worn, acting as if we were trying to scam them out of money. We went back to the front desk and explained that whoever sold us the boots 2 weeks ago told us that we could return them even after wearing them to work. All staff responded extremely rudely and told us none of their staff would ever say that as it was not their policy apparently they can only be returned in resalable condition/if there is a fault, and whoever did would get a talking to. This did not help us as my partner wasted almost $200 with the impression that he could return the boots if need be. The staff implied we did not have the common sense to realise that worn shoes could not be returned we know this is the policy of some other stores but we were explicitly advised otherwise, and have returned items to stores with a similar policy to this, that it is our fault and we selected the wrong size, and kept saying the staff would never say that to us, making us out to be liars. Both my partner and I explicitly remember what was told to us as it was only 2 weeks ago and the reason we bought the boots in the first place. This store acted extremely unprofessionally, with one staff member pulling a rude face when we suggested that she may have been the person who sold us the shoes. The owner spoke very aggressively to us and was not understanding of our situation, could not comprehend the possibility that their staff could have been wrong/led us to believe we could return the shoes. We were so happy with their service originally, however we can see on other reviews the store replies claiming the person reviewed the wrong store/their staff would never act like that etc. We advise to never buy from this store as when it comes to returns they are not helpful and very aggressive/rude and gang up on the customers. This experience made my partner and myself extremely stressed, especially as my partner has been suffering constant pain from these shoes and now has no way of returning them. They offered to still send photos to the shoe company however we do not want to ever deal with this store again due to the stress the staff have caused us. My partner simply wants some shoes that do not hurt his feet as we have tried other shoes before, we were so grateful for the store to be helpful originally and my partner has only been honest and nice to the staff working there. No customer deserves to be treated so badly, especially as we attempted to be nice and understanding about the situation.
Genuinely helpful staff. They have a huge range but I needed something they didn’t have. They ordered me exactly what I wanted and I got them within a week. When I arrived back with problems they had a shoe smith to recommend but were then able to sort it out via warranty. At no point did I feel like I was going to leave without a solution. Sooooo refreshing thank you

Great range of brand name footwear for the whole family. Helpful staff as always. Was able to find bargain priced Bata and Grosby shoes for an adult..me..toddler.. my grandchild.. and child.. another grandchild
If you need shoes, this is the place to go. The friendly staff are more than happy to assist you with your selection but if you just want to browse they'll happily leave you to it. They have a great range of too quality shoes for work, formal or casual. Sports shoes much cheaper than competitors, all good brands too. Check these guys out, you won't regret it!
The best shoe store on the Coast! I have been to quite a few shoes stores and one major department store looking for shoes. Not all of them but most were small on Customer service but big on price. As soon as I walked through the doors of Shu Valu I was greeted by their friendly and knowledgeable employees. I have difficult feet and find it hard to find shoes. Well, Shu Valu has an enormous range of high quality shoes that I could actually afford! They could not have been more helpful. I was so impressed by their service and affordability that I will recommend them to everyone and won’t shop anywhere else! Thank you, Shu Valu!!!
