Visited on Sat night. Great location right on the Strand. I was with a large group and service from staff was amazing. Prices as expected for location. Food was great, no complaints at all. Highly recommend the dessert menu. Didn't stay in the hotel itself so can't comment on accommodation. My only negative is the hoons on the Strand constantly revving their cars. It certainly ruined the atmosphere. Unfortunate. Even the locals we were dining with seemed annoyed with the constant noise pollution. Just unnecessary revving and burnouts.
I’ve been here twice so far! The first time was amazing, the service was friendly, the food came out fast, and everything we ordered was delicious.nnThe second visit wasn’t quite as smooth as my order was messed up and the wait was over an hour. That being said, the staff handled it super well and were really accommodating. We were given a full refund with no fuss which I really appreciated!nnGreat spot overall with awesome food and customer service, I’d definitely come back and give it another go!
Whilst the atmosphere of the venue was and always is incredible, this food left a lot to be desired and the cleanliness of the bathrooms even more so.nnOrdering the beef burger I requested no mustard or pickles only for the bottom bun and lettuce to then come out smothered and soggy in mayonnaise which was not listed as included on the menu. Yes I should have taken it back but by this point we’d already been waiting for 30-45min.nnOn leaving I attended the women’s bathroom only to walk into stalls that either had snot or blood smeared or sprayed on the walls and toilet roll dispenser. The toilet layout itself is abysmal, with anyone who has just used the toilet then having to open the internal door prior to washing their hands.nThe service was great. The other menu items great and normally we’ve had generally good experiences at the Seaview but to say this visit was lacking is an understatement.
Great to see the Seaview Hotel has had a refresh over the past couple of years. The renovations have really modernised the place and made it a welcoming spot to catch up with friends or family. The atmosphere is always good, the staff are friendly, and the live music adds to the experience. It’s a great place to enjoy a pint and a meal, and there’s plenty of parking out the back, which is always a bonus. I’ve always enjoyed coming here and will definitely be back.
The Seaview Hotel lives up to its name with one of the prime spots on The Strand, not quite on the water but you definitely have a view. We make a point of stopping in every time we visit Townsville, and the experience has been reliably consistent over the years.nnThe food is solid, we’ve never had a bad meal, but here’s the catch… the wait times are LONG! If you’re already hungry then brace yourself, because meals often take 1-2 hours. We ordered the chicken, a parmi and a kids steak early on a Wednesday night and it took 75mins. This was out of peak busy times as well. Service could use some work too, which doesn’t exactly help the wait.nnIt’s the kind of place you go more for the view, the vibe and a drink than a quick bite, and in that regard, it delivers every time.
