First opened in 2012 on bustling Brunswick Street in Fitzroy, Rustica Sourdough has expanded to include its Canteen locations in the city and Richmond, quickly becoming one of the most successful bakery-cafes in Melbourne.

Came in here to have breakfast with my partner and a 5 year old child and had purchased a croissant for him prior to coming here from around the corner to eat because he was hungry. Went in and was told he was not allowed to finish his croissant? Expected us to purchase another croissant for the child when he already had one- the staff member that told us he was not allowed to eat his croissant inside told us in quite a rude manner also. Would not recommend.

Absolutely love this place. Everytime I come the menu is different and so far I have yet to order anything that disappoints. I really appreciate them giving you a legit knife to cut through everything unlike the butter knife most places give. Always full which gives it a great atmosphere.

BEST sweets best bakery I've seen in all of Fitzroy (and therefore Melbourne haha). Just the service could sometimes be a little quicker. Sometimes they do last hour sales!

Had a great breakfast here the other day. Decided to grab some takeaway lunch today as had had such a great experience prior. Got one of the mushroom tarts from the display and had it warmed up. Walked the 5 mins home and opened it up. Was still cold in the middle. Additionally, any halfway through find a massive amount of white fluffy mould between the mushrooms. Am concerned about the freshness of the food that is not made to order.

Chilli scrambled eggs are the best! Amazing coffee and almond crossaints. Lovely staff. Food presentation is great!
