A beautiful restaurant by the cooling and windy river as you cut into your hot meal, admiring the great view from the window. I had a wonderful time here celebrating my dad’s birthday here. The staff here are very attentive and will recommend suggestions if you don’t have any clue what to eat that day or night. The oysters were delicious and even tastier with a squeeze of lemon. I would highly recommend the “Maryland Chicken” as the portion is just enough for one person and comes with wonderful sides. I would definitely come back again if I’m ever in Launceston!
Best service we had in Tasmania. Kudos to the service staff. Love the oysters, squid, chicken, desserts. Too much sauce on the grilled octopus which killed the taste. Would prefer more chunky & burnt spiced cauliflower. Overall we enjoyed our dinner very much.
Food was fantastic and the venue was spacious, and very kid friendly. Drinks came out quickly. This is the venue we waited the most amount of time for our food while in Tasmania, but the quality of the food was well worth it. Highly recommend the pork belly and any of the pasta. The sour is quite nice as well.
We had a great evening on my wife’s birthday. The location is great. The food was nice. Oysters were nice n fresh. It’s not madly priced.nWe were served by really nice host and hostesses who provided overall great service. We will come back again next time when we are in tassie.
If you like seafood, then Rupert & Hound is the place to go. Food is superb, and their pan seared scallops are to die for. As every time we come to Tasmania scallop dishes is what we go hunting for.nnSituated a stones throw from Peppers Seaport Hotel, whilst in Launceston this establishment is a must visit.nnThe overall ambience on the banks of a boating port is fantastic. The staff on the day were attentive as we were squeduled with a booking on the next day but had to change it a day earlier. Throughout the meal service, the bubbly staff members approached us to check that we were enjoyed our meal.nnI can't recommend highly enough that my son and I enjoyed this place. Thats after reviewing alot of places in Australia. Well done to the chef's and the staff at Rupert & Hound. We will surely be back.
