Mud Bar & Restaurant

It had a great potential. But the service was sub-standard. The staff never checked on us about either the quality of the food or to ask if we needed beverages (we only had one from the bar while they prepared the table). Literally, the Bloody Mary from the bar is the only drink I had. The 18$ drink itself was half ice, with a leafy celery branch and some spaghetti cucumber. It had very little tomato and alcohol. I was expecting more at that price. The entree most of our table had (sticky pork fingers) were delicious. My main was a porterhouse steak, cooked medium rare (as requested). Sadly it came with layered potatoes that did not tasted fresh and as per its French origin. It only lost one star due to food and two stars due to service. It should be easy to improve it.

Had a lovely time there, nice on the river pier. Staff were lovely and very helpful! Oysters were very average and so were the entrees (we had Japanese sashimi) not quite worth what you’re paying. However made up for it in the mains which were spectacular!!! Altogether a lovely location and great food! Would recommend!!

Entrees and desserts were delicious and well worth it, very inventive too. Although tasty, the mains were not as good and were actually too large, especially after eating entrees. Service was good and friendly. Towards the end of the night, I felt we were eating in the dark. Some tea lights or not dimming the lights as much is recommended.

Food was exceptional. However, pricing on the website vs. what's charged in the restaurant is very misleading. You have to pick either a two course menu for $60 or $80 for three and aren't allowed to order the food a la carte (or the waiter is a liar). Also, we felt constantly pressured by that waiter to order more than we came in wanting to and found this incredibly rude. This ruined what would have been an enjoyable night out.

The food, service and ambience of the Mud Bar was excellent and we would highly recommend this restaurant. Having just arrived from Sydney on a Sunday, and with most restaurants closed in town because it was Sunday we were pleasantly impressed. We had food offerings from both the regular and vegetarian menus and the food was fabulous.
