A somewhat disappointing experience for my wife and I this evening.nOn arrival, there was some confusion as to whether our table was ready or not we had a booking, but they worked it out in the end. The restaurant was pretty full, which is usually a good sign, but it actually felt a little too cramped and hard to have a conversation without feeling overheard.nWe decided to skip starters and go straight for the main. For reasons unknown to us or our waiter, we had to wait nearly 50 mins for our food to arrive. The wait felt especially long given the lack of olives, nuts, or bread being provided to the table. For a ‘fine dining’ restaurant, this is disappointing.nThere were 7 empty tables by the time our food came, so there was hardly a backlog of orders in the kitchen.nnThe food itself was a good standard, but nothing overly amazing for the price. We have had better steaks at a lower price.nnWe chose to share a desert, the caramel slice, and this was enjoyable and nicely thought out. A slight positive to end the night on, but overall, we were not impressed.
The staff at Black Cow were amazing! They were very accommodating, personable and made the experience extra special! The food was incredibly delicious, we tried all the different entrees and they didn’t disappoint. The steak was perfectly cooked, juicy and tender with a perfect sear. I can’t recommend enough!
This was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The staff were lovely, I had booked a table for one and they had left some books on my table for me to read. I ordered the homemade sourdough, the Great Southern Pinnacle scotch fillet and side of mixed mushrooms.nnI have never eaten mushrooms that tasted that good before, and the steak was melt in your mouth amazing. I had read the reviews and was prepared for it be good, but it was mind blowing good. I am contemplating a five hour round trip to Launceston in the next few weeks just to eat here again
A place with good aroma and warm welcome services. Each dishes has spot on tastes. I realised what is speechless means while eating. Brilliant cooked medium grass-feed beef with Oysters Kirkpatrick. Compliments with multilayered of potatoes. Yammy.
I highly recommend it as the best steakhouse in Launceston. The steaks were cooked perfectly and delicious, and the other dishes were excellent as well. The steak sauce was tasty, and the meat quality was perfect. Especially, the service from the staff was outstanding. They were very professional in their explanations and incredibly friendly. The ambiance of the restaurant was great, the restroom was clean. I think the taste and service are the best in Launceston.
