Since opening in 2006, Rumi has grown from its small beginnings. Joseph and Natalie Abboud's homage to the flavours and generous hospitality of Persia, Turkey and Lebanon now sit amongst Australia's best Middle Eastern Restaurants.

Really nice middle-eastern food. Was especially pleasantly surprised with the fried cauliflower. I personally hate cauliflowers but theirs didn’t taste like cauliflower at all! My favourite was the chicken wings (a bit spicy for young kids under 6yrs old) but otherwise it was lovely. The grilled king prawns were also nice. Service was good despite our rowdy kids. Paid parking at the front of the restaurant limited.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne. Cool space and great menu. The manager is so friendly and the food is great, I've never had any problems. Actually one time they did forget a small dish we ordered and they were so apologetic that they unncessarily comped our drinks.

Classy vegan-friendly food. And the best modern Middle Eastern food I’ve ever had. We had the Valentine’s Day 4-course vegan banquet and were blown away by each course. Tapas-sized, each had great flavours, beautifully plated. Standouts in an impressive selection were the 2 eggplant dishes - one in its own skin hardened to a shell. Also the grilled white eggplant which was subtly but superbly flavored. The almond pudding dessert was to die for. And order some tea, which tastes much like any other tea but is presented to you with ceremony in a gorgeous Arabic tray - a wonderful and very classy touch. The decor is elegant casual. Carved out Arabic writing on wooden panels (Kahlil Gibran’s poetry) uplift a large spacious room. I recommend you get a cushioned seat along the wall as the hard wooden chairs were the only disappointment of the night.

Great service, noce place. Good food. Started with meatballs and BBQ prawns, they were nice. Unfortunately salad and potatoes had way to much salt... potatoes were rather dry and hard than crispy. Left bit disappointed. Will go back again to try other items.

Consistently great food. I've been coming here for years and the food is always great. The wine and beer menu has improved over the years as well. Good friendly service too.
