Locanda Restaurant & Bar

Thanks to the lovely bartender who made me a watermelon mocktail yesterday, perfect drink considering the heatwave! As a non drinker I often get told with disinterest that my only options are water, coke or OJ so I appreciated his enthusiasm. Thank you for making me feel special.

Food is good, but overpriced. Really small portions, only for people either not hungry or with a petite stomach. When asked the waitress for bread... she needed to ask the chef?? After five minutes she comes back saying the they do not serve bread during lunch time... The dessert, chocolate fondant with ice cream, was smaller than a kids size meal. Come back? no sir, thank you very much.

5 star customer service 5 star presentation 4 star food My brother had his wedding here on the weekend. They have excellent customer service, the set up of the restaurant is beautiful. Unfortunately a couple of dishes were not as nice as the others.

We went on Boxing Day 2017 for a family Christmas celebration 4 adults 2 young teenagers, it was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had. The floor manager started the evening telling us how busy they were Christmas Day- fair enough then went on to whinge about how hard they worked and how they were still getting over it - fine but don’t project it onto to us trying to enjoy our family meal. The waitress wasn’t very friendly although we tried to many times to engage with her, limited knowledge of the food. The drinks and meals took ages to come, we had to keep asking where they were, the lamb rack was the smallest serving ever, the chat potatoes were clearly reheated and were disgusting, we had to ask twice for my son’s meal we had almost finished when his arrived, they bought us the wrong wine and when we asked the floor manager about it he argued with us until we showed him then he was very rude. My steak was nice but the bernaise sauce was cold which totally ruined it. When I mentioned this to the waitress after she asked how our meals were she said that’s how it’s meant to be and was quite rude. The chips my daughter got were cold and the Caesar salad had no egg just lettuce, croutons, dressing & bit of parmesan. They served chocolate fondant to my 13 year old in a boiling hot ramikin without any caution which he held to scoop it out and burnt his fingers. To top it all off they overcharged us on the bill for 7 people instead of 6, then as an apology took off the wine. It was truly uncomfortable and disappointing I would never recommend it!
