A wonderful place for catchup, food & drinks. It’s located in the heart of Melbourne CBD on Collins. They always have the friendliest staff who wouldn’t hesitate to tell us what’s best for the day. I also personally enjoy their weekly specials, & the animals up on decor.Food: 4/5
Well all i can say is this was not an enjoyable experience. A very limited menu with iver half of it vegetarian or gluten free made shorter by only 1 cut of steak available. Place has a wine/alcohol list 10 pages long but cant stock 3 diff cuts of steak. Order took 20 30mins to arrive and was less than underwhelming seeing ur steak have a charcoal look that u can do cave paintings with and a taste that is tough to chew just bought the meal down further. House cut chips are potatoes. Quartered and cut into wedges to.then be served half cooked with a salad that had just leaves and consisted of a tart vinigrette dressing that was just yuck. Atmosphere was busy with some random trivia game going offf in.the corner but all we heard was muffled bursts frim the microphone and cheers for 90minutes. Overall just a bad experience for us. Overpriced and over valued. What an amazing place! We were greeted by a very friendly but efficient young woman, we were seated and orders taken very promptly. But wow, I thought the service was good but the food was even better. I had a rump steak, and it was seriously the best steak I have ever had, perfectly cooked and so very tender, it cut like butter. Definitely got to go back again.
Loved the full wall display from the entrance to the back where the kitchen is - does make you feel like you were dining inside a museum! The staff were friendly and attentive. I had the twice cooked pork belly and it was divine. My friends also said their dishes were delicious too, especially the spiced roasted cauliflower. Great place!Food: 5/5
Went down for their steak night on short notice and managed to get a seat. Gorgeous venue with Natural History Museum window exhibits along one side. Happy hour beer and wines 430-630 and cocktails 630-730. Comfy seating to just relax and disconnect from the craziness of the cityFood: 4/5
We only had drinks so I can’t review the food but it looked and smelled delicious! Such a unique restaurant to enjoy a drink or meal in front of a mountain goat. It filled up quickly around lunch hour. We got a table right before the rush.Service: 5/5
Had a wonderful lunch, lamb chops, smashed potato and peas on a cold rainy Melbourne day it was perfect! Fab atmosphere great bar xFood: 5/5
On the last day of our trip to Melbourne, we wanted to have a dinner out, somewhere nice and came across this place on our way back to the hotel and decided to try it. It certainly did not disappoint. The place is fantastic, nicely decorated and the atmosphere was fantastic. It was not crazily noisy and we could at least hear ourselves talking. The display on the wall was amazing. The food was great, we had the mussels, potato cakes and schnitty. The service was quick and the staff were extremely helpful. It's a place that we would definitely go back again and would recommend it to others. Thanks for making our visit enjoyable.
Recommended this spot to a couple of friends and they loved this place as much as we did! Like everyone else who has reviewed this establishment, I’m super impressed by the unique interior and friendly staff. We had a delightful server whose name I didn’t catch and she gave great cocktail recommendations despite not being a drinker herself. We enjoyed everything we ordered especially the char grilled broccoli. Frosty Fruit is a cocktail I will fondly miss and will likely bug some bartender to recreate in the near future. We’ll definitely be back for more!
Came to this place for their 22$ steak night. It's a 250g flank steak and honestly had no complaints apart from the sauce costing 4$ . The steak had great flavour, good smokeyness and was surprisingly tender. Fries were fresh and had great crunch. I had the broccoli which was cooked and seasoned perfectly.. so yummy. Staff were friendly and aware. The bar also has really fascinating decor. A cool place with chill vibes.
