Story

Located at 389 Brunswick Street, Rice Queen transports you into the world of kitsch Asian design where you can forget about the troubles of the day while sipping cocktails, enjoying sakè or nibbling on dishes handpicked from a range of different Asian cuisines.

Our menu is geared toward shared dining and is best enjoyed by ordering a range of dishes for the table and experiencing as many flavours as you can. It also features a host of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. Our drinks list keeps things intimate with a selection of wine, fantastic cocktails, sake and beers that reflect and complement the food.

Yum loved this place! We ordered the super cheap set menu which is great value for money so much food we couldn't finish it. To be honest we could have ordered half as much and still feel satisfied. The vibe is relaxed but being located on Brunswick St it is trendy with a constant background hum of people enjoying themselves. Equally suited for dinner with a group of friends or date night.

Amazing food, amazing cocktails cannot recommend this place enough in a really cool part of Melbourne. The decor and vibe is amazing. Was taken here by a native of the city when on holiday and was blown away by how good the food was. The pumpkin curry was a particular highlight, give the waiters/waitresses some idea of what you like and then let them select some dishes they think you'll enjoy.

Wow amazing decor and ambiance. The food was amazing. I recommend the pork belly bites and curry with lamb shank. Overall a very pleasant experience

Very good Hawker style food with fast but unobtrusive service. Decor is a fun take on classic, and somewhat kitschy, oriental design. Good selection of quality wine .. a must try experience.

Cool ambience, nice drinks but average food to match the service. Had to really try to get the attention of the waiters. Got the tasting menu for two. The first two dishes came out quickly then it was a 20 min wait for the next two then a 30 min wait for the next followed by a 15 min wait for the last. All up we were in there for too long. Would go back for a drink and maybe try the a la carte.
