I’ve had takeaway and eaten in, both times with friendly service, and amazing food. It’s a busy restaurant, as it clearly has a good reputation. I highly recommend this place.
Returned after a few months away and the food is as good as ever - the vegetarian laksa is the best I've ever tasted and the salt and pepper eggplant we had was also delicious. The vegan duck pancakes are also delicious. Portions are big and food is cheap, you can also BYO wine if you like. The staff are also amazing - so friendly and so efficient. Will be back and hopefully soon!

Had a wonderful experience at Basil Leaf last night. Our service was impeccable and friendly. I had lots of laughs with one particular lady who works there! We ordered the deep fried spring rolls, satay tofu for entree. Crispy, fresh and tasty. I had the tofu rice noodle laksa and my partner had tofu pho. Lots of flavour, very fresh and lots of food. Will definitely go back. Vegetarian options: So many Dietary restrictions: We are vegan and gluten free
Authentic Vietnamese served by the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. The crispy eggplant is to die for and washed down perfectly with the homemade iced tea. Loved the birds nest crab meat spring rolls and the chicken coleslaw was perfect, sweet sour salty. Can’t wait to go back and try some more dishes. Looking at the amount of people having the laksa it’s next on the list. As you walk down Brunswick Street keep an eye out for the lanterns, Love the food drink and people at Basil Leaf Pho.
Best authentic family owned Vietnamese! Each dish is prepared with so much care. Each bite makes you want to come back for more!
BEST SERVICE & FOOD!!!!!! Can't believe I haven't been here before being so close to home! Cute little restaurant and food was amazing! I had the broken rice with grilled chicken and my husband had grilled pork. Both delicious and generous portions! Whilst the food and vibe was both great, the biggest highlight here was the extremely hospitable boss lady! She was so friendly, welcoming and genuinely caring for her customers to enjoy their food and experience! Cannot be more grateful for her world class service! I'd definitely be back for more! Cảm ơn!
Incredible food at a great price, one of my favourite go-to’s in Melbourne since I’ve lived here. Almost worked my way through the entire menu and it’s all delicious. The service is the cherry on top, so you get why this place is always busy.
