I've been going to hooked in Fitzroy - since it first opened as we live just around the corner. We have had our ups and downs - like any relationship. However, after a meal from there last night - I feel like they are at their peak! Hooked used to be really good to start with... then something happened and it became very hit and miss. However the last few visits have been some of the best FNC's that I have ever had. The Australian FNC's box is currently my go to. I think they have started using different fish recently - it's so much more plump and handles the deep frying really well. Last night's fish was so soft, moist (!) and perfectly cooked! Guys, whatever you're doing at the moment - please stick with it - it's working and we are back to being regular customers! I will note that we did try to order online for pickup on your website - and it said that ordering for pickup at fitzroy closed at 5pm. However when I called they were happy to take my pickup order... a bit confusing, but we got there in the end.

one of my favourite fish and chip places ever! food is always great, and they make such great salads! price is good too, especially with their lunch deals.

I had the Grilled Fish Burrito during the lunch special which was a perfect lunch time meal. The burrito had homemade slaw and the fish was fresh. It doesn't seem like you have much chips but it's all a satisfactory amount. For 10$ you can't go wrong.
