The lady was sitting on her laptop. Didn't look up, no greeting. Music was blaring so loud that she likely didn't hear me. I can see why this place was empty. Threw the menu at me and continued on her laptop. I asked a question and there's no initiative to turn the music down to an appropriate level so she could hear me. 

On another occasion (I'm all for second chances) I went and was promptly asked to move twice to accommodate to larger groups. I was not even served water or given a menu and was ignored for the larger group. As somebody who works in hospitality I really am disappointed and whether I'm spending ten dollars or five hundred the customer experience should be the same. 

Very disappointed in the service. The food was good but there's other great Ethiopian restaurants around.

If you’re looking for delicious, authentic, and hearty Ethiopian food, you won’t be disappointed by Saba’s. On God. Everything was amazing, but the best was the lamb (2nd menu under meat option). They also have very good vegetarian options and lentils. Some things are a bit pricey but generally well-priced. 

The setting is nice and intimate. It had a very family-like feeling.

Only criticism is that the service can be a bit faster. It was very slow.

Amazing delicious food! Never been disappointed here. Fantastic vegan options and the staff are just beautiful. If you haven't been you're missing out.

While the food was good, we had to wait 40 minutes from ordering to being served, without being informed of how long the wait would be at any point.

I love going to Saba's, I am always welcomed into the space with the familiarity of a childhood friend then presented with a menu that never dissapoints and allows me to have a different combination everytime I visit while listening to some Ethiopian music that is slowly becoming familiar. My favourite part of the meal is eating with my hands as there are very few restaurants in Melbourne that encourage this and the diners accept this as 'normal'.
P.s. Try the Ethiopian honey wine or Spiced Ouzu tea for something different
