Story

Located in the heart of Fitzroy, the Industry Beans warehouse is a transparent operation of sourcing, roasting & brewing specialty coffee alongside an open kitchen serving up food from a seasonal brunch menu.

Every day of the week the friendly barista team offers an extensive range of single origins & blends brewed on a wide variety of methods including espresso, pour over, aeropress, cold drip & cold brew. They also serve up the IB Bubble Cup - the first ever specialty coffee cold drip bubble cup.

Brothers Steven & Trevor Simmons established Industry Beans in 2010 as a small batch roastery that recognises the importance of the relationship between roaster, coffee maker & coffee drinker.

Industry Beans roasts daily for its cafe and a family of high-quality cafes and restaurants across Australia.

Great drinks and a nice vibe, but the food was a little underwhelming.nFor food, I had the porcini nest. The dish looked great when it arrived, but it didn’t quite live up to it. The egg was not runny as I expected, and the whole dish felt a bit too dry. The portion size also felt quite small and not very filling.nWe also had the lobster roll and chilli bara, and those were actually better than the porcini nest.
Industry Beans is a beautiful café with a strong presence in Melbourne’s coffee scene. The space itself is stunning — modern, open, and very thoughtfully designed. The atmosphere makes it a great place to sit down and enjoy a coffee or meet with friends.nnThe coffee was excellent. You can tell they care about quality and consistency, and the cup we had was well balanced and enjoyable.nnWhere the experience felt slightly lacking for us was the service. The baristas and servers didn’t seem overly welcoming or engaging, which stood out because Melbourne has so many cafés where the hospitality is just as impressive as the coffee.nnThat said, the aesthetics, atmosphere, and quality coffee still make this a place worth visiting. With a bit more warmth in the service, the overall experience could easily match the high standard of the coffee and space.nnStill a solid stop for coffee in Melbourne.nnEvery cup tells a story.
Industry Beans in Fitzroy is an incredible space. The light-filled café and the ability to look straight into the roastery make the whole experience really special. Their range of retail coffee is outstanding, the coffee itself was faultless, and the food menu completely exceeded expectations. A must-visit if you’re in Melbourne.
We had a group of 6 friends having brunch here, the first time at Industry Beans for any of us. The cafe is minimalist white in decor with gorgeous green plans fitted around and overhead. The brunch menu is more extensive than your average brunch menu with a classic section with the usual suspects for a Melbourne brunch menu and a signature section including a lobster roll and a Porcini nest. The food was fabulous, definitely 5/5. The coffee was truly on point we all had 2 coffees!. The service was friendly and timely. It was a little noisy, and the smallish booth for 6 did make chatting for the whole table a little challenging. Would definitely recommend!
Visited Industry Beans to try their Tiramisu Cold Brew and it was a great choice after trying the beans in Sydney. Everything looked as good as it tasted. The white lighting and greenery around the tables added to the cosy atmosphere within this picturesque, modern warehouse.
