One of the oldest pharmacist around has sadly shut up shop now in 2022. I remember coming here alot in the early 1980's after Balaclava free kindergarten to get myself weighed on those scales near the entrance. That would've been like 1982/83...It was one of a kind...Thanks for those memories...
I went to buy some Rapid test. I did one and I went to see the result on the box and I realised the box has an error photo. I went to another pharmacy to buy more. I went back the Ramsay Pharmacy for a refund as the product is not correct and they told me they couldn't as I have open the product. I Show them the box and that I needed to buy more and they said it was not their problem. I asked for the manager but she is in maternity leave the the other manager was on leave. How come a Pharmacy doesn't have anyone responsable??? Anyway, thank you there is a Chemist Warehouse next door.
Whenever people ask why I travel over 90 minutes from Avondale Heights to Balaclava for a particular pharmacy I tell them the same thing.. For over a decade I've had an ongoing relationship with the people at Ramsay and for a decade they have always been considerate, compassionate and genuinely caring. They have fought for me when no one else would, listened when no one else would and dealt with me with an acute understanding when no one else would. Selflessly going above and beyond for me on more occasions than I can even recall. Their professionalism is only eclipsed by their genuine empathy, consideration and trust. I was lucky to find a place where there's no judgement or discrimination. Where people will happily stop, talk and check up on you at random down the street or in a cafe etc.. Out of a genuine rapport.. Nothing else. SO!.. I tell people that ask '90 minutes is a small price to pay for my chemist and I've no intention of looking anywhere else why time soon.' Staff feel more like friends than staff and in turn the place feels friendly not cold and clinical as you come to expect from the majority of other chemists... Thank you.
Great service at Ramsey pharmacy, the staff was very efficient and attentive , would definitely recommend to anybody seeking a personal service. The young pharmacist was fast but thorough. Great personal service. The young male pharmacist went through my medication with me explaining what it all did and not to combine my meds
Pharmacist would only give me 2 weeks supply of medication when I had requested 6 weeks and was quite hostile about it. No compassion or understanding. When I have to go back to the pharmacy in 2 weeks, it wont be this one.
Probably the least personable pharmacy I have ever been to. When I walked in I couldn't see any staff anywhere, but a chemist assistance did appear from out the back shortly after I walked in. I went in knowing they might not have the prescription I needed as I'd already been to two different chemist who were also out of stock. The chemist assistant took my script to the pharmacist and I heard him crossly say to her they didn't have it and that they'd been out of stock for months. The pharmacist made no attempt to talk to me himself. Then the script was simply handed back to me script and said the chemists assistant said they didn't have it made not attempt to relay the information the pharmacist had given her. Made no attempt to let me know it had been out of stock for months, no assistance or suggestions. I'm independent enough to sort it out myself and I have since been able to get it elsewhere, literally the next day so much for it being out of stock for months. My concern is for more vulnerable people who might be a bit lost of told their medication is unavailable. I do not recommend this pharmacy.
Female chemist was exceptionally rude, walked off mid conversation, sent a male to continue discussing female health and had to ask for female back, chemist refused to come back and they got a stock person to help that didn't know anything. Was my local chemist for the past 2 years, will not be back.
To be honest I get along with all staff here and would give them a 5 star review if it wasn't for the pharmacist named Alan. He is rude and makes you wait on purposechatting to other people, talking on the phone longer then he should, pretending he can't see you, as if to punish you for being a customer. I don't know if he is incompetent or just not a very nice guy. I made a review on here before and it seems that all the old ones have been taken off... Hmmm ..
Lewis Pharmacy has the most friendly, helpful and kind owner and staff. They don't flat out refuse like most other pharmacists to go the extra mile for their customers like staying past closing time to fill your prescription if you're running late or properly researching the answer for a health question you have. I'm really grateful I found these guys as I've had to visit chemists for my medication daily for a year now and I've been stuck with some harsh, judgemental power trippers before.
I only go there for dosing & haven't missed in about 20 years....that is until this Anzac day weekend. I rode my bicycle from Port Melbourne & to my horror they were not only closed the Saturday25/4/20 but also Sunday. They have never closed like this before & gave me no warning. I haven't dosed for nearly 48 hours now & still have to wait another 40 odd hours. It is easier to maintain a heroin habit & I am a poofteenth away from walking down to Richmond & spending $50 - I can rely on them. I know I will be dosed at least. I would love to use much worse language as I am so angry but Iam afraid it wont be printed if I do that. Another case of the poor suffering as a result of higher classes being selfish & very narrow minded. Do the program or don't....I can go elsewhere or do you love the 100% profit margin we give you
