Great Air Force museum for families and anyone interested in military aviaton. The initial display conveys the history of the AF as well as life as service personnel and historical missions. It is certainly bigger than I expected. Various hangars display a wonderful display of aircraft. Entry is free, you must only supply a photo id at the entrance of the base. Only way to get there is driving. Has a small souvenir shop, but filled with interesting gifts and memorabilia. Gentleman at the museum entry was very nice and friendly and gave us a verbal informative introduction to the museum.

The air shows were amazing on Sunday and the boys were super excited to see the pilots and ask questions. It was a fantastic display and all free!

I have been to To the RAAF Museum a handful of times since moving to Melbourne and still enjoy, and find it very interesting Everytime. I've just recently taken a friend from the Northern Territory to the museum and he too loved it and found it to be quite interesting and fun to visit.

Well worth the visit if you are an aircraft / history lover, plenty of well maintained displays and info on the RAAF from inception through to the modern era. No flying or cafe open when I visited but the volunteers knew their stuff and were very helpful. Take the Werribee Train from Flinders Street, hop off at Williams Landing and the 497 Bus will take you to corner of Saltwater Parade, about a 2km walk to the Museum...worth the effort!
