The Grainger Museum, founded by pianist and composer Percy Grainger, is the only purpose-built autobiographical museum in Australia.
Percy Grainger preserved the evidence of his creative life - his archive, personal library and many of his possessions - in his Museum on the campus of the University of Melbourne, the city of his birth. Grainger’s extraordinarily full life also included pioneering work as a folk music collector, innovative music educator, social commentator, clothing designer, and inventor in the field of Free Music experimentation, resulting in a diverse and eclectic collection.
