Wow! Finally a museum that understands that space and word economy are key elements of effective communication. I absolutely loved the Gandhi exhibit - spacious, interactive and chronological, like a well crafted story. I felt like I could access Gandhi the man turned Mahatma. The exhibit on identity was also very well done and provocative (in the best way possible) with the questions posed to visitors throughout. By interweaving well-posed questions and shared stories, visitors of the exhibit are prompted to consider, even briefly, that not only do they carry a story, but to consider the strands from which they continue to weave their own story and identity. On top of all of that, the welcome I received from the Aboriginal staff member at the front desk when I arrived, was the warmest I have ever received, period. I shall treasure this experience.

A $15 entrance fee was worth the visit. India's father and most revered leader Gandhiji's exhibits intrigued the patriotism in all visitors. One could educate themselves of Australia's varied culture caused over a period of time due to Immigrants. An informative centre to know what made Australia.

Absolutely worth the visit. Concession entry is free. Exhibits are always changing and very interesting. A worthy museum for the story of how immigration has shaped and enriched Australia.

Quite small over two floors. Interesting but started getting repetitive. Not sure why they had a big exhibition on gandi which was loosely tied into immigration because he spent ~20 years in South Africa. Would have preferred more on examples of contributions to Australia by immigrants to Australia. This is a great introductory Museum to anyone new to Australia and particularly anyone with kids. It explains the history behind how Australia became what it is today and has some interactive exhibits for kids. Two to three hours is likely enough time at the museum.
