About

Queensland School of Film and Television (QSFT) is a nationally registered training organisation offering fully accredited courses in all technical disciplines of filmmaking. We specialise in the behind-the-scenes aspects of film and TV production.

Story

QSFT has a national reputation for producing graduates with the skills, expertise, enthusiasm and attitude Film and TV production companies look for. We offer a high level of quality hands-on experience. Our students are required to roll up their sleeves and experience the practical reality of filmmaking, at the same time exploring the finer creative points of this exciting and challenging medium.

All subjects in our courses are directly relevant to the film and television industry and to ensure that students are aware of industry practices, field trips to professional production facilities are incorporated into the training program. QSFT is one of the few film schools in Australia that uses professional motion picture equipment.

Our workshops too are open to professionals, hobbyists, children and those in the industry. High Definition Video Workshops include introduction to camera, lighting, sound, framing, exposure, composition, aspect ratio and depth of field.

Scriptwriting and Directing Workshops include formulating ideas, rules of screenplay, dialogue, formats, character development, scene break-down, directing techniques, cinema language, actor's language and working with crew. We also have an Editing Workshop using Apple Final Cut Pro and much more in detail on our website.

The school curriculum focuses on technical and organisational skills that ensure success in the industry as well as the creative aspects and underpinning knowledge of filmmaking.
