Personally wouldn’t send my children here, my ex friend went here for 2 years 7 & 8 and started doing self harm due to some bulling. Only some teachers care and listen. Others can’t be bothered.. I think another great alternative to this school is Somerville house. I went here and it’s so amazing.
As a graduate, I can honestly say that Brisbane Girls Grammar School is made good only by the teachers; the majority perform their duties well and pass down valuable insight to their students which I deeply treasure. I am gravely concerned about the appointed student care, the dean of students and the vice principal; their handling of bulling and harrassment was repulsive and destructive to students - at times it felt isolating to be at the school when these people would do nothing to help, even at times defending those who partook in disgusting behaviour. The damage this does to students emotional development and wellbeing should be looked into, as currently there is no assurance that those employed and trusted to care will do anything more than give a plastered condescending smile and cover up any problems - going so far as to lie to parents about the ongoings on school grounds. The extra curricular activities and campus are immaculate, but neither are a substitute for good student care, leaving no question as to why reunions dwindle in popularity. Nil Sine Labore
I got cyberbullied here by people I thought were my friends, and the teachers and staff are rude and don't really care about you, they only care about school work and to keep their profile high. I moved to St Margarets just a term ago, and oh my lord it is amazing so much better than Grammer.
Just attended the open day. Wow, what a lovely school. Amazing facilities, the girls were so impressive, the school looked wonderful. A place for young minds and souls to grow.
when i tried ot go here they said that i couldnt becasue i was a male gendre, like what if i want to be a male grnder when i am out of school ansd a femaale gender when i am in shcool
Fabulous experience over the last 5 years with my daughter at this school. My daughter loved it and so did I. The independence of the girls is something that enables them to take responsibility for themselves. Excellent in all ways, from academic to friendships and ethos. Absolutely 100% recommend as an outstanding school.
if i could give it 0 i would. dont send your child here. i go here and will be moving ASAP. if you have your child enrolled, good luck, the school has a bad campus no toilet seats, stains on walls/floors etc., the teachers dont care and the girls are awful to us for no reason. they bully poorer schools for no reason. mean and dumb
If I could rate zero stars, I would. I attended bggs, and after being subject to racism and bullying from the students, went to seek help from the school, receiving little to no help. After not attending school for 2 months as a result of the bullying and informing the school that I would be moving, I was told that "the girls will become more mature next year"; a weak attempt in trying to convince me to stay if I do say so myself. And that was pretty much that. I left that school realising that it's money that matters to them the most, and that my biggest regret was not moving schools sooner.
I cannut spell or reed thanks to thy schoil. Horible
They pretend to want to empower women, but when females in a BGGS family are facing domestic violence, they offer no compassion or sympathy. They just want money above all else, even if it means you can't pay for food or shelter. Even after you've left the school and you have a court order that says someone else is required to repay the outstanding amount, they simply don't care and will take steps to ruin those who have already been victimized. It's not an inspiring school, it's a cold corporation.
