Spent one night here after our trip across on the Spirit of Tasmania.nStaff were friendly, room was clean and we enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant. 10 days later we sat in the bar enjoying a drink before our trip back to Geeling. The lovely waitress was happy to have the chef prepare a fresh vegetable stir fry before our trip back on the boat. Very helpful, highly recommend the stay.
An excellent place to stay after sailing from the mainland. Affordable quality accommodation, close to all amenities. The staff are friendly, kind, supportive and efficient. The bistro food for dinner and breakfast was delicious with many options available Our room was spotlessly clean, the beds were super comfortable and the hotel shower was appreciated after a long travel. Updated review. I’ve always loved staying at Nightelier Devonport, and my previous visits were perfect. However, this stay on the ground floor was quite disappointing. I found it noisy, with conversations echoing until 11 PM and disturbances from the car park starting as early as 5:30 AM. I definitely wouldn’t recommend the ground floor for a peaceful night’s sleep.nnAdditionally, I opted for breakfast this time, but it was underwhelming. Basic cereals and pre-cooked bacon didn’t meet my expectations, leading me to leave and seek breakfast elsewhere.nnI’ve been a regular visitor to Devonport, but after this experience, I’ll have to reconsider my options for future stays.nnPrevious 5 star review from Feb 2026..nnGreat hotel with friendly, welcoming staff. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location is perfect — close to everything. Highly recommended.nnThe only downside was the fire alarm going off around 1am, which meant the hotel had to be evacuated. That said, the staff member on duty was working alone and handled the situation incredibly well. The evacuation was calm, organised, and everyone was kept safe. Huge credit to him.nnThank you for a great stay — I’ll definitely be back next time.
They love dust and filth here. Everything is run down. Mould happily resides on shower walls. The elevator floor is in poor condition. The laundry is smelly. Filters on machines filled with grime. Lights don’t work. Need I go on. Luckily; Devonport and the surrounds are lovely
Second time at staying here form Qld. Staff here are so friendly and helpful, the room is comfortable with accessories and daily housekeeping is thorough and timely. Free laundry facilities and gated parking. There is a relaxed feel about this place which we quite enjoy. Dining-in is equally good with ample servings of delicious and fresh meals. Well done guys.
