The issues I have with this hospital, and that people below report, are due to minimal government resouces. It has nothing to do with the staff. The doctors and nurses are knowledgeable and respectful. Both times i have been here, they have forgotten to do stuff, but frankly, they haven't had time and I am still here today. And that's all that matters. The hospital does an excellent job priortising cases and is really good for trauma.

If I could give this “hospital” zero stars, I would. I find this government institution more than lacking in professionalism, transparency, and honesty. As an American, I am truly appalled at my lack of care and intend to follow through with taking action regarding the negligence of physicians and nurses on duty. Rarely do I have the type of migraine I was suffering from (less than once per year) but I had a rager this weekend that left me incompacitated, vomiting profusely, and in the most amount of pain I have ever been in. And I’ve given birth and dealt with severe DVT, so that’s saying something. Triage was fine but once they brought me through to the ED, a pair of criminals complete with handcuffs and police officers on standby seemed to take precedence over my condition. I can’t relate enough how unbearable my pain was. I have not suffered a migraine so accuse for several years, but the last few and far between ones i had in the United States, I can remember the precise protocol that the doctors sorted me out within MINUTES of coming through the ER doors. I come from a family of medical professionals (doctors) myself so I am familiar with terminology, policy, and protocol. After I told the doctor that I may NOT take any oral pain killers (as it exacerbates my pain and symptoms twofold) a nurse walks in five minutes later with an endone tablet for me, and tells me it’s morphine. Everyone knows Endone is NOT morphine, so not only did I not appreciate the dishonesty about what specific chemicals I was about to ingest, but the orders were in black and white NO oral pain relief. Anyway, once I mentioned the protocol used to wipe out my migraines in the past, one or more of the doctors told me that “Australia does NOT give morphine (or dilauded)” which is another flat out lie. I was treated as a drug seeker and they hooked me up only to a bag of fluid and that was about it. They also (FINALLY) injected what may or may not have been morphine into my iv port... they were as vague as possible and EXTREMELY rude and very clearly labeled me a drug seeker- and refused proper pain medication WHILST my Air Force Officer partner and our three year old seated right next to me holding my hand as I was still in a great deal of suffering and stress while the doctors and nurses were all giving me not only the incorrect medication, not communicating with each other, but refusing me the ones that actually have effect. My experience here was a total nightmare and my outlook on socialised medicine is completely tarnished. They’re not interested in FIXING the problem rather than pussyfooting around the actual issue with as little effort and organisation as possible. In fact, they discharged me before the migraine was even gone. I’m sorry, but if this isn’t malpractice I don’t know what is. My discharge papers said I was feeling better. I wasn’t. I just needed to get out of that hellhole and they were keen to see me go whether I was fit to walk out the door or not. (Which I was NOT) I look forward to having my medical records transferred from the United States and should the need arise, be treated competently with the correct protocol they should have exercised here.

Orthopedic surgeons wasn't good at all. Had very bad experience in orthopedic and physiotherapy. I am going to private specialist to fix all the problems from PA hospital. Public hospital system is not good at all. Nurses are very good so it's not one star.

Both times I have had to visit the ER, I was overwhelmed with the nurses and doctors professionalism. The service I received was honestly better than most 5 star hotels. Absolutely amazing.
