Julian is the best midwife I’ve ever met! She truly goes the extra mile to understand her patients and takes the time to provide thorough information. Thanks to her, I feel much less scared about labor.nnI work in the hospitality industry and have met many kinds of people, so I can confidently say that Julian is a rare gem, someone the hospital should truly value and keep.nnHowever, I can only give three stars because of the following experience, which is quite surprising for a professional hospital.nnA few months ago, I had a disappointing encounter with a receptionist at the ultrasound department. I fell in front of the hospital and asked for a bandage. She said she would check, but while waiting, another midwife called me in for my appointment. When she saw I was bleeding, some staff members quickly put a bandage on me, without even cleaning the wound first!nnAfter my appointment, I passed by the reception again, and the same receptionist told me, “Sorry, we couldn’t find a bandage for you.” I was shocked, this is a hospital! How could they not have a simple bandage? The whole situation was both frustrating and disappointing.

We visited the hospital when one of our friends were admitted there & the staff were helpful with directions to find the place.nnOur biggest gripe is not adequate parkings spaces for staff, public and patients.nnParking charges are one of the most expensive for a hospitals in Brisbane area. Not easy to find the vending machines to pay for parking & car park operator should stop milking money out of the public.

Best hospital I have been to.nThey genuinely care for you and are wanting to see you well.nThe food is also amazing.nI was in there for nearly 2 weeks and no other hospital I have ever been to have have had wood fire pizza as an option for food.

Got admitted for a surgical procedure and from the second I arrived all of the staff, nurses and doctors were so friendly, kind and caring. I went in alone and they made me feel so safe and comfortable. I wish I could remember all of their names but they were all just so amazing and helpful. They made me feel so important, huge thank you to the team working with me on 15/1-16/1!

I had to have my finger operated on just over 2 months ago. I was in ward 8A and I can't commend the fabulous nursing staff enough for the care provided and how friendly they were. I also would like to thank the kitchen staff for the amazing food and the super friendly staff that delivered the meals! Thanks ever so much to the amazing team and the Mater Hospital for being the best hospital in Brisbane:
