I spent three days at The Wesley two weeks ago, I can’t rate my experience highly enough! The nurses from 7E were compassionate, kind and knew their specialty. Their encouragement when I needed it was deeply appreciated, thank you. The food was delicious with lots of beautiful gluten free options and rice milk, yes!!! Every plate of food I received was beautiful and had a generosity about it, thank you.
Thank you to Dr Waheed Ahmad and your team. The patience, compassion and communication you provided to us was truly wonderful. It is evident there is so much passion and care in what you do. It is very much appreciated nnAlso, thank you to the Nursing Team on ward 4E. You were all so warm and kind to my mother I have so much appreciation to you all.
Just spent 2 days in for surgery & from start to finish it was amazing. Every person from admissions, to the volunteers, nurses etc were fantastic. Loved the room service. The surgical assistants were so attentive & compassionate. I didn't want to leave.
I haven’t walked into the hospital. So I can’t give a first person perspective unfortunately. However, my husband was transferred from another unitingcare hospital for a second surgery after having emergency surgery only 2 days earlier.nUpon arrival, after being transported via ambulance he was informed that they didn’t yet have a bed and was asked to sit in a chair in reception. A man with multiple tubes coming out of his abdomen and nothing but a gown on we’re thankful for the paramedics that had his back and told them it was inappropriate. While this was happening I received a call asking for payment on his behalf.. of course I’ll pay, but give him a bed and some dignity before you ask anything from me!nnToday he had surgery, we were told he’d go through at 4pm. At 5.30 pm he still hadn’t been taken through with absolutely no communication or information from anybody.nnHe has been there for over 24 hours now and had an operation and the only call I’ve received I’m 2 hours away with 2 young children was for payment. No nurse or surgeon updates afterwards.nnWe’re grateful for him being seen so quickly, but the care outside of the surgery has been exceptionally poor and I’d much rather wait in the public system than be treated the way we have been - like nothing more than some $$$$
My father is currently in patient at Wesley and has been on and off for last few months. He is 80 and is wasting away. The staff say every day that they’re waiting for a bed in Rehabilitation to get him into. Every day that he isn’t in rehab his body gets frailer and frailer. The past week has seen such a decline in his condition that he’s barely recognisable to me, his mental health is seriously suffering as he feels he is ‘useless’ as he can’t do anything for himself. I went myself to the inpatient rehab clinic and the staff were nothing short of useless. No idea how long it would take, no interest whatsoever in our story or listening to our concerns. Told me to come back during office hours it was 3.45pm! conflicting info from inpatient rehab reception and rehab doctor. There is a wait list/ there isn’t a wait list etc etc. Awful experience. Not even sure once/if we get a bed space there that we would even want it.nThe other wards seem to be fine with caring nurse staff though I went to visit dad a few days ago and he was blue and shivering, he said he had called the nurse button 10mins before hand. I was there for a good 10minutes before someone came. He was freezing and unable to get up. Not what you’d expect from a private hospital.nOn the plus side the cafe is excellent with really lovely staff and great cakes!
