I’m truly grateful to the team at *Queensland Children’s Hospital* for the exceptional care my granddaughter, *Ayesha*, has been receiving under the skin specialist team. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with kindness, professionalism, and genuine concern for her wellbeing.nnThe doctors are knowledgeable and attentive, taking the time to explain everything clearly and involving us in every step of Ayesha's treatment. The nurses and support staff have also been incredibly compassionate, creating a calm and supportive environment that makes a big difference for both the child and the family.nnThe hospital facilities are clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed with children in mind. It’s comforting to know that Ayesha is in such capable hands.nnWe’re still on our treatment journey, but I couldn’t be more thankful for the excellent care she is receiving. Queensland Children’s Hospital truly lives up to its reputation.
Team here saved my life! I myself am a teenager who miraculously survived near death sicknesses all thanks to the outstanding performance of the doctors and nurses here. They were very kind towards me and my parents, even giving my parents their own room to stay in while I stayed in PICU. Loved the service they gave me, they washed my hair, helped clean me and give me showers too.nnI originally came in the emergency in critical condition, but the doctors were quick to treat and sedate me. Without them I probably would have died that night. I had multi organ failure due to sepsis causing my organs to shut down, but because of how amazing the doctors were, they did everything in their power to keep me alive.nnGeneral Ward had fun activities for me to do!nMusic Therapy was always my favourite. Erin did an amazing job keeping me entertained with her amazing music skills. Physiotherapy helped get me into shape and healthy for home. I liked the gym they had on level 6, especially the outside area with the basketball hoop. Other people came in as well and got me to do some tie-dye which was fun.nnOverall 9.8/10 Hospital in my experience. But parking can be a trouble sometimes. If you want to get good parking come either early in the morning or sometime in the afternoon at around 3-4PM.
It is difficult to explain just how world class the care was of our son for the 3 nights he spent here. Entire teams of doctors and nurses tending to him, good food, constant support and incredible technology. Care like this in other parts of the world would cost tens of thousands of dollars - we got it for free. We are immensely grateful to you
Amazing staff and efficient triage. We took my daughter there last night for a concerning non blanching rash. We were fast tracked and taken seriously straight away. We saw Dr Judith, she was very thorough, caring, easy to talk to, and made a quick diagnosis. Our nurse Amy was so so wonderful too. She did everything to try and make her more comfy, was so patient with us and also very attentive. You can tell when a team is genuine. I honestly was so impressed by the whole team. The blood draw was fairly traumatic, but I feel in a toddler, it was never going to be an easy process. Thank you so much. I'm hoping for a speedy recovery for our little girl.
My son had surgery here in February. While the doctors were amazing—professional, kind, and supportive—the nursing staff we encountered left us with a very negative experience. Unfortunately, their lack of care and bedside manner made an already stressful situation even more difficult.nThe nurses were physically rough with my son. One nurse yanked him up by the arm to wake him for medication, despite him being in obvious discomfort after surgery.nWhen my son vomited on the bed, the same nurse made no effort to change the bedding. I was left to find clean sheets and change the bed myself, all while trying to keep my son—who was only four years old—squished to one side of the bed in distress.nWhen my son was hungry and needed his first meal post-surgery, I went to the nurses’ station directly opposite his bed. Four nurses were gathered there discussing rosters. Instead of assisting me, they told me to go to the kitchen myself. Normally, I wouldn’t mind, but my son had just come out of surgery, was terrified that I was leaving him, and was crying for me not to go. The staff could clearly see this.nThe only person who helped was an Indigenous nurse, who was not even assigned to our section. She kindly brought me food so I could stay with my son. Her compassion and initiative made a world of difference in that moment.nI also asked about lodging a complaint at the time and was told someone would contact me. However, it is now August, and I have heard nothing back.
