Could not fault anything in this hospital. Spent one week in neurosurgery ward and one week in rehabilitation ward. Surgery with neurosurgeon Dr Winter went smoothly, with no after-surgery complications. Dr French, head of the rehabilitation ward attended each day and my pain was dealt with promptly and cheerfully, and reviewed when necessary. Staff were caring, cheerful and obliging, with prompt attention when called for. The rooms were modern with up-to-date facilities, which importantly, created a comfortable and relaxing environment. Fresh sheets and towels and cleaning was done every day. A thank you to the chef for the marvelous array of food on menu. The variety and presentation would excel some restaurants. A thank you also to my anaesthetist Dr Tucker, who took the time to visit me, and explain some of the procedures during the operation. Overall, I would highly recommend any stay in this hospital ...
The surgical staff were outstanding. Being on the ward however was a different story. The night nurse staff were incredibly rude and unprofessional. I had foot surgery and was left to fend for myself, not to mention the attitude. My medication was either never given to me or it was hours late. I was left in pain and told to deal with it. Absolutely disgusting the way they treat the patients. You pay for private treatment and I got worse than public. I couldn’t wait to get out of there.
My husband was in the orthopedic ward and quite frankly, the care and presentation of the hospital is very poor. There is obviously a serious lack of nurses in the wards, with patient/nurse ratio a major concern. The nurses are clearly stretched to the limit, making patient care far below standard. Cleanliness and hygiene are also very questionable. After reading the previous reviews, there are serious consistent issues which need to be addressed urgently, which I fully intend to take up,
Very clean and the rooms are quite spacious. Getting around the hospital can be challenging as the signage are quite confusing. Similar to majority of hospitals parking is quite expensive. The train station is a better option. It is around 550m from the train station. The staff are brilliant and helpful. The meals are quite tasty . My husband who is an Army Veteran was admitted here for a shoulder reconstruction. The staff to patient ratio is impressive. However, in terms of delivery on nursing care plan pretty dissapointing. Lack of attention from nursing department. I had Krystalattending nurse on dutyon the second day after surgery. Not only did she lack compassion, uncaring. She might be in the wrong profession. I will definitely bring this feedback to her Nursing Supervisor attention On the other hand, Dr. Cutbush Shoulder Surgeon even checked up on my husband right after the ops. Just shows how caring and professional he truly is. Dr. Cutbush went above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you Dr. Cutbush and to his wonderful team for looking after my husband while he was admitted at the hospital.
Everyone was professional and sensitive about my needs. It was my first time to go through hospital procedure, general anesthesia, etc and it went smoothly from admission to discharge. I had a great experience. Thanks to Dr. Couzens and the rest of the staff who were part of my carpal tunnel release surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Couzens.
I had a terrible experience at this hospital. In the first recovery I waited an hour and a half after waking to be able to get to the next recovery, no water, help to the bathroom or pain meds given at that time. For some reason all the nurses left for lunch break at the same time except for 1 nurse who was looking after 12-15 patients. Still in pain, still needing to go to the bathroom I couldn't catch the only nurse's attention. I was sobbing and a patient asked me if I was okay before the nurse got to me. At one point I asked to have the curtain closed so I could have some privacy to reposition my gown which had moved up to my belly, I was given paper towel to cover myself with and she walked off. There is no time management, no organisation and no empathy at this hospital. It was truly a concerning, humiliating and upsetting experience, and this is private too. My email was replied to with a with a very basic and prewritten response Please don't come here, don't waste your money or risk your health for this place, it's not worth it
I have been to this hospital a few times and was great experience.. how ever this time was disgraceful, I was not given a menu to order food .. was admitted at 2pm . Back in my room B2 by around 6pm after surgery.. I asked the nurse on duty where my bag was as I needed my ph . Mick the nurse replied with no empathy, don't know , I'm busy and you just have to wait . Took over 30min to get my bag to me . Which Mick basically just dropped my bags on my lap. I said excuses me I don't need my shoe bag on top of me, he snatched it back it put it on the tables. No assistance to open my bag. I had a meal in my room waiting for me . Was cold and nothing I could eat .. so I asked Mick can I have something else . Mick replied, your fussy ain't you .. fussy I didn't get any options to choose my meals, then he came back with ham and cheese sandwich which was hours from being out of date , Mick didn't do a hand over with the next nurse Tracey who was much better than Mick . Mick checked my blood pressure and temp once in 5hrs . Tracey was checking regularly. My breakfast was terrible, 1 piece of dry toast , no butter or anything to put on it , and a dry crossont and a little bowl of fruit. once again didn't get to choose meal .My bed sheet had rips in it , my room had no towels in the bathroom. which was disgraceful considering the amount charged to stay .. Worst experience ever
My husband has been on rehab floor for 5 days. He called me at 10:40 am crying in pain. I spoke to the nurse who told me that my husband was not due for pain relief for 4 more hours. I had to argue with the nurse to get him to call the doctor for more pain relief. Shocking. An hour and a half later I get to the hospital and find out that my husband has been given no pain relief. I find the nurse and he told me that he gave the order to the pharmacy. I told him to call the chemist NOW. Instead he got his supervisor. The supervisor insisted that my husband is not due for pain relief for 2 hours per the chart because the nurse did not update it. When the nurse explains, the supervisor said that he will call the chemist. He told.me to relax. I said No. it has been 1.5 hours and you people have done nothing. He told me they are not my servants and walked off. I called the pharmacy and they said that the nurse stuffed up and did not properly fax the chart until 5 minutes ago. I hunt down thenurse supervisor again and the pain relief is gien to me hisbad at 12:45. It twi 2 hours and my making a big fuss to get him pain relief. The way the nurses ignored my husband crying in pain is shocking. NOT RECOMMENDED
I would like to thank Brisbane private hospital for looking after me while I was there having my left shoulder operated on. The 2 nurses that looked after me were great , but Chloe on the night shift was outstanding nothing was too much trouble for her, even though the ice machine had stopped working she organised an orderly to bring some ice over from another floor for my shoulder, she saw my water jug was just about empty and just automatically filled it up, she kept asking how I was and how my pain level was. She is an asset to you Team After running my own business I think that staff that excel in there career should be complemented. Not sure how many Chloe's work at Brisbane private, but I was in Room 20 on B floor on the 17th through to the 18th of February. Chole thank you and i hope you get to see this one day.
Just had my knee surgery and I’m so happy with my nurses, big shout out to Ella in the morning and Anna in the afternoon. So knowledgeable and caring, both looking for me patiently every second, I created a close bond with both and was the best experience, there were trying to making me laugh all the time and cheering me up. Explained all the process in the easiest and simplest way possible. Thank you so much I will always be grateful to you both
