Had a disappointing experience today 31st May at Petbarn Box Hill.nnWhile waiting in line, a young male staff member walked over to the register and simply said “Yes” — no greeting, no warmth, just a blunt cue to come forward. When I asked how he was, he paused for an uncomfortably long time and then barely muttered a response.nnHe gave minimal effort throughout the interaction and seemed like he really didn’t want to be there. The whole experience felt cold and unwelcoming, and left us regretting the visit.nnHonestly, we should’ve just gone to our local pet shop in Burwood, where the service is consistently friendly and respectful.
I booked a full groom and bath for my 5-month-old puppy, but was told upon arrival that they don’t do full grooms for puppies on their first visit and changed the service to an essential tidy and bath. I appreciated the caution at first, but when I picked her up, it was clear they had done almost nothing other than a basic wash.nnWhen I asked why, I was told she reacted to the clippers, scissors, and dryer and they couldn’t proceed. However, when I brought her home and groomed her myself—using treats and patience—she responded quite well for a young puppy. Of course she was a bit unsure at times, but nothing extreme or unusual for her age.nnI understand every dog is different and safety is important, but I expected more effort or at least clearer communication about what was and wasn’t done. I left feeling disappointed, especially as I was charged for a service that wasn’t delivered in full. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.
Just collected my Charlie from their grooming salon-so happy with the result! He smelled fab and he was relaxed coming home unlike other times with other places. The ladies who did excellent work were nice and friendly too. Highly recommended!
Love, LOVE, the service provided by the girls who were working on Tuesday 07/01.nThey were very friendly and attentive to my beautiful daughter dog, and provided wonderful service.nMy dog came out very nice and happy which is very important when at the groomers
