Highly recommend Parnell family. Been going here about 4years. Dr Eva M is kind and knowledgeable, and always has practical solutions. Lynne the nurse is very patient and kind. Anything to do with my kids has been taken seriously. Never had to wait very long for an appointment. Dr / nurse have always followed up with results / follow up calls promptly.
I’ve been seeing Dr Budelmann for about a year and always find him wonderful; he is very experienced, an excellent listener, extremely empathetic, kind, very careful about medications and does not over prescribe. All my appointments, including phone consultations during lockdown, have been a positive experience. I also really like the nurses at Parnell Family Doctors, who are so helpful and knowledgeable, as well as the lovely receptionists. Couldn’t be better.
I have been a patient for over a year and my dissatisfaction with the service just keeps growing. It started when the clinic was literally making me wait 1 hour each time EVERY SINGLE TIME for my appointments, which were always scheduled in advance. I'm a busy professional with a little baby, but even if I wasn't, such disregard for the value of my time is pure disrespect. I have to say, I have no problems with both of the doctors, once I actually get to see them. Another major was when I called to extend my iron prescription. I subsequently got charged $20 for it, but was not informed about this charge at the time of call I would not have agreed to such overpriced service. Let's just say I'm looking for a new practice to move my son and myself to.
I have been a patient of Dr Hilmer Budelmann for more than 20 years. I have found him to be very knowledgeable and balanced in his view of treatment. I have also found he is very good at spending the time necessary at an appointment to diagnose and explain an issue and I have never felt rushed. I have read a number of the reviews which criticised delays in appointment times. As a business owner I can imagine that scheduling is problematic when you don't know how long previous appointments are going to take particularly when Dr Budelmann commits the amount of time necessary to each appointment . Otherwise its a case of a strict time slot and you are rushed out the door regardless of where the diagnosis is up to. I prefer the way the clinic is run now and in my experience I can't speak highly enough of Dr Budelmann
Incredibly disappointing experience with Parnell Family. Booked an appt as a new patient as was looking to transfer to Dr. Maschel. Upon arriving, was informed the doctor was running 45 mins behind schedule. Waited for 45 mins to be seen and as I was about to leave doctor walked out. Not wanting to rush through my appointment nor waste $90 I said I would look to rebook. I was assured by the receptionist that I could go and have a quick chat with the doctor and all fees for the quick chat as well as my next appt would be waived due to the very long wait. As I walked out from seeing the doctor, a very rushed 10 min appt as the delay at the clinic had made me late for another engagement, the receptionist then proceeded to charge me for a full session. Despite assuring me prior to going in that I wouldn’t be charged. Absolutely horrendous experience
If I had a choice to put zero stars I would.. Do not go here!!! I'm originally from San Francisco and I came in and spoke with Andrea at the front desk in regards to my reason in needing to see a doctor. I then went on to say I wanted to make an appointment for the very next day at 9:15 however she informed me about the $90 fee which I wasn't aware of before the doctor did not inform me about this fee on the phone before I came to new zealand. I told her I will have a look around at some other places to keep my options open and told her specifically that I did NOT want to go ahead with the appointment. The doctor was to have a look at the letter I'd left for him and I planned to pop in sometime within the next few days to see what he had to say. The very next day I'm informed by Andrea that I've missed my appointment and that I owe $90!!! I went to speak with the front desk lady the very next day and I said I'm not going to be paying $90. I explained the exact story just like in this review. The nurse not Andrea this time said I'd have to talk to the doctor about waiving the fee.... I'm never going back and if they decide to send me an invoice I'm going straight to the ministry of health. Family Parnell Doctor should be embarrassed of how they dealt with this situation and there practice.
This place should close down, Dr budelmann is a ladyman and needs to retire
Both Dr Budelmann and Dr Mascher are excellent GP’s, providing high quality health care. Dr Budelmann speaks to my young children gently and puts them at ease. I happily drive the 50 minutes from my home to go to this practice.
I have been going to Parnell Family Doctors for over 10 years. Dr Budelmann is very easy to talk to, caring and experienced. The staff and nurses are also very genuine and helpful.
Lol, for some reasons I’m glad to see that I am not the only person... I had an appointment at 11h15 .... as usual «i’m sorry i can’t find your name» It was ok, the woman at the reception was sweet, and really sorry so she said to Dr Hilmer Budelmann that it was my turn but he didn’t agree « NO, I want to see Simon first » THANKS Doctor and Hi ! It wasn’t really nice to say that in front of me, I was already waiting for 20min, it wasn’t the first time that you lost my appointment and just to let you know: I preferred to wait until today to see you because you are my GP and you don’t work on Tuesday. I won’t waste my time and my money anymore, NEXT !
