Good gravel road to summit, nicely marked at 1km intervals so everyone knows how far to go so makes a good first overnight tramp for kids. Huge area for camping but very exposed to wind. Flush toilet but little in way of designated water supplies or shelter. Swimming holes, tunnels and bridges so plenty to amuse. Better suited to cycling than walking.

Just great. Friendly people both for staff and other campers. Wet while we've been here but clean and tidy facilities regardless.
