Bare minimum campground. You can tell the owners wish they were doing something else. The facilities are dated, which is okay but they need to clean them more often! The owner confessed that the hot water costs him nothing as it is wood fired but also he turns off the water if someone has been in the shower too long. He gave us a couple of examples, umm how do you know how long people are showering? Creepy. If you don't want to charge maybe put a timer on the water.  Talking about timers, the womens bathroom light will turn off after about 2min so I hope you enjoy showering in the dark.  Several times I have come across the light switch off! What is the point of the timers? The kitchen isn't big enough and not enough hobs for the amount of people that stay. The fridge is jam packed and the campground is fairly empty. There is a heap of expired food in the fridge. There is no tv room or such just a sad corner in the small kitchen. The mircowave is gross. There is a whole area of people who are emergency housing who stay up late talking and singing. There is no way to access the river from the campground. You must go through the park. I understand wanting to keep non paying guests out but just put a gate with a keypad like every other campground.
The owner is a paranoid individual who will follow you with his bike. I felt both unsafe and unwelcome at this establishment. We checked in only to have him follow after us as if to spy on us. He is rude. The facilities are dirty. I HIGHLY recommend to avoid this holiday park at all costs. Would give it 0 stars if that was possible.
Would not recommend. Keith was so rude, arrogant and racist. Had just arrived after driving 7 and a half hours to have him have a moan at 3 of our group who arrived on motorbikes in which we had previously mentioned this is conversation when making the booking. Kathy was lovely but keith, mate your in the wrong job. Definitely not going to recommend your business anywhere after you were so rude that made our group of 12 leave. You should never judge a book by its cover.
Glad I took the owner's suggestion for a place to set up my tent - very quiet, peaceful. Traveling North and South Islands, writing several articles for American cycling magazines. Kitchen is small/basic but made it work.
Nice caravan park this, facilities are clean and up to date. Pleasant staff and generally a quiet place to stay, plenty of activities next door for the kids.
The hosts were lovely, very helpful. It had good facilities and it was quiet and relaxing. A great place to stay.
Amazing stay for my family of 8, Booked a few months ago for my family of 8s trip around the north island, can't fault the place, the owners were fantastic the staff were outstanding, friendly and happy to help when asked, place was clean and tidy n has a tramp for the kids to lose some steam, Thank you again team, you were amszing
cheif keith waved me down whilst driving and ripped the keys out of my ignition for “ speeding ” in the camp ground, going 20ish kmph in a 15 kmph zone he threatened me saying i had to wait for the “ boys in blue ” for my keys back, whilst braking my keys when he ripped them out the ignition, slammed the front door on my face when i attempted to go into the office for my keys back and swearing his head off at me, not really a big issue especially for the campsite as it’s very small and not many people there, cheif keith if you see this you need a humbling leasson you old grumpy cun
I absolutely loved this place the owners were absolutely amazing, surrounded by beautiful trees and greenery the place just looks and is amazing, well done guys excellent service, can't wait to come back to visit
Great place to stay. Not far from town. Seems to have everything you need. The self contained units are good to stay in
