It was 3pm on a Sunday afternoon, my 2 year old needed to see a doctor pretty urgently. I tried several other places and had no luck. We walked in here and waited under 5 minutes to see a doctor. The doctor had a good bedside manner and was very efficient. I know the waiting times here can blow out but honestly for the convenience of being able to walk in you would expect to have to wait. I couldn’t fault my experience from the great reception staff to the competent doctors.
This place was great when it first opened. But the front office are run lean... you walk in and could be waiting 1-2 + hours and they don't tell you, you must ask .. even then you still get triaged and pushed down the wait list. They tell you one thing on the phone then they tell you another when you arrive. Doctors are great for the most part. They did have a fair bit of turnover. It's a churn in and churn out centre and not because of doctors but their business model. As a business you can't put in a complaint or feedback. Don't be fooled if it's empty either. They have 20+ consult rooms but might only have 1 doctor on. Always ask or you'll be spending your whole day there.
Month by Month it continues to get harder and very difficult to see a doctor. 2 hour waiting times plus regularly as is the norm and not the exception. Don't bother calling as you will be on hold for ages. They have also just further restricted phone consultations from 5 days to 3 days just as it becomes harder to get a consultation in person. Operations continue to get worse so I am not sure what Management is actually doing to resolve waiting times and service. Credit to the Receptionists who are always very friendly and polite. There are a few great Doctors and others not so like any other Medical Center.
Two hour wait to see a “Doctor”. Understandable as it is a walk in clinic and it was a Saturday. What got me though, that after all that waiting time, doctor said they couldn’t help me and sent me on my way. I went in for a routine treatment that every other doctor I’ve ever seen before has done. Won’t ever go there again, and certainly wouldn’t recommend to anyone
I've been waiting almost 2hrs to see my doctor for 2mins. I was first told at the front desk that there were 4 people ahead of me. After 1hr 30mins of waiting, I saw a man waiting outside his door with a piece of paper waiting to jump into his office as soon as the patient in there jumps out. The patient left, and this man knocked and entered the room and shut the door. I raised this at the front desk and was told there was still 1 person in front of me, which would've made it 5 or 6 people in front of me all of a sudden, plus this guy who just pushed in. She said the man who pushed in was the radiologist from next door and I asked her to speak to the doctor to advise that he should not be allowing people to push in even the radiologist from next door when patients are waiting hours to see him. This is not fair to the patients. I guess this is what happens when the clinic doesn't take appointments - no one respects time and patients. I've decided today I will no longer be coming here. The only good thing is it's clean and has everything in one spot but I can't do it anymore. Half my day is gone. Also, my cousin came here the other day with a scare blood clot and very high blood pressure and she was turned away at the front desk, told to "go home and call the ambulance". Absolutely disgusting to turn her away basically saying they already have an ambulance there for another patient.
I really love Our Medical Home in Loganholme. Whenever I need a non-urgent emergency consult for me or my children, I love that they are open late, no appointment needed & have a connected pharmacy to pick up any prescription or non prescription medication. Service has always been efficient & reliable. I don’t mind so much not getting the same doctor each time, all the doctors we’ve seen have been great.
I saw the same GP twice this week. In both cases he seemed more interested in proving me wrong and ushering me out the door in 3 minutes flat, than improving my health. Dismissive, rude, arrogant and takes the 'care' out of 'healthcare'. It's no wonder I rarely go to see doctors. It's not worth sitting in that waiting room for even 1 minute if the doctor who sees you cares more about his Mercedes than your health.
Got told it was currently 1.5hrs wait time. After more than 2hrs we were still waiting. Went to receptionist to check we had not been missed, got told there were still 5 people in front of us. Final wait time was more than 2.5hrs for an appointment that took less than 5mins. This has recently become the only local medical centre in this area that still bulk bills, so hoards of people are coming here from near and far. They cannot seem to hire enough doctors to keep on top of the workload, so the wait times are long at all hours of the day and night. They ask you to wear a face mask, this is a sensible request in these covid times. Looking around the waiting area, most people do NOT have a face mask on. Frankly, they should be turned away if they don't have one. What is the point in having rules if they don't get enforced? We have decided to switch to another medical centre. It does mean we will have to pay for appontments upfront, but it also means we won't have to wait around for 2-3hrs each time we need to see a doctor.
During the last few months I had to wait around 3 hours or more to get in with the doctors. When you are sick that’s not what you need. Very disappointed and frustrated. It’s happened so many times already that I decided I will go to another clinic. If you don’t have enough doctors or this walk in system does not work, you should start taking appointments. Is a total lack of duty of care for the sick patient who waits for hours to get in. I will definitely change the clinic and I will not recommend it to anyone I know.
I first attended this clinic in June when my own practice had no available appointments for days. The Dr I saw Dr Hitchin followed up with a personal phone call at 8am the day after my appointment, advising I seek specialist care, based on the results of blood tests and a urine sample. Since that time, the fact that the clinic is open 7 days has meant that when I have needed immediate medical attention on successive Sundays, I can receive it locally, without going to Logan Hospital Emergency. This has been invaluable to me and my partner. Also, although wait times can be onerous, they are shorter than Logan Hosp Emergency and are at times similar to wait times in other practices where one CAN make an appointment. The other advantages of this practice include the pharmacy and pathology on-site, and a treatment room that is open daily, as well as the number of doctors available at any time.
