Story

Our modern 60 bed hospital includes an 8 Bed Day Surgery Unit and Private Room accommodation,
2 Operating Theatres and a Gastroenterology Procedure Room. We offer services in General Surgery, Medical, Obstetrics, Orthopaedics, Laparoscopic Surgery, Gynaecology, Gastroenterology, Dental
and Residential Aged Care.

Our Residential Aged Care Facility has 84 licensed beds. The aim of the nursing home is to provide an environment in which residents receive contemporary, quality care in both the medical and nursing fields within the resources available.

The North Eastern Community Hospital complex is community owned and focused on providing quality clinical services to the local community.

I recently underwent a laparoscopy at this hospital and I had such a smooth and comfortable experience. All of the hospital staff were quick to assist me and were so kind when I was scared, and were more than happy to spend extra time with me to answer any questions I had no matter how silly they were.nnA big, big thank you to everyone who assisted me during this visit, you made a very scary time for me feel very manageable and safe

My Father Had A Colonoscopy,Staff Were Very Helpful And Was A Good Experience Overall.We've Had Several Surgeries At NECH Over Last Few Years. Caring Staff Helps A Lot .

I have just returned home from a day procedure at the NECH gastroenterology dept and I want to commend the staff on their treatment of me. Facing any type of day surgery can be daunting for anyone, particularly for the first time but the staff at NECH made me feel at ease from the first moment. Their interaction with me was friendly, empathetic and always professional. Thank you NECH staff.

I have had multiple surgeries at this hospital over the past 20 years and I am always comforted by many of the same nursing staff who have been consistent through these years of treatment.  My most recent experience in February 2025 was the best nursing experience I have had in any hospital.  The staff were caring, compassionate and personable. They all deserve recognition for the wonderful care they provide.   And a huge shout out to Karina, the best nurse I have ever had.nThank you!!

On Monday 30th June 2025,  1.30pmnPensioner, was a  Private Patient there.nHad major surgery,  lucky for my Specialist,  Dr Valarie Thompson,  the surgery was pain free,  she was very professional, I could not have been happier, I am very grateful to her.nBut some of the  Nurses and Admin Staff there....say no more,nThe next morning, I discharged myself.nNot happy at all with there Services there,  would not send anyone to North Eastern Community Hospital.n,
