Every time I have needed the services of this hospital I have been met with caring and, under the circumstances, efficient care. Spent a good part of two weeks in the palliative care unit recently, and cannot possibly give enough praise to every single person involved in my family members care. It was a warm and supportive environment, with a strong focus on communication and ensuring patient well-being. The same was true when I had earlier visits for my children or other family in the emergency department, and I can only imagine comfort would be improved with the future hospital upgrades. I would also like to say a big thanks to all of the hospital volunteers, who give their time selflessly to bring refreshment, chat and offer comfort among other things for those of us who find ourselves, unfortunately, there. Thank you all so much.

When you go to the ED, you get treated in priority. There’s less staff at night as well, so if you’re there for non-life threatening injury, you’ll be waiting for hours - as expected (Emergency is for emergencies). Triage nurses aren’t exactly sympathetic. Once I got in, the staff were very accommodating and the ED doctors understood something wasn’t right (I was misdiagnosed by 2 GP’s earlier)
