Story

Calvary Hospital North Adelaide is one of Adelaide's oldest hospitals, having been established before 1900, when the Little Company of Mary Sisters took control of the hospital. It features a large maternity wing. Calvary is a fully operational hospital which, in 2016, had 153 beds. It also has an extensive Mary Potter Hospice and a comprehensive Cancer Centre.It is located on Strangways Terrace in North Adelaide, only two kilometres from the Adelaide city centre.It is owned by parent corporation Little Company of Mary Health Care which, in 2006, acquired Calvary Wakefield Hospital, Calvary Central Districts Hospital and Calvary Rehabilitation Hospital. Due to these acquisitions, the original hospital is now known as Calvary North Adelaide instead of Calvary Hospital Adelaide.

We had our daughter at the Calvary 9 years ago. We absolutely loved the nurses & our stay there. Today my daughter had day surgery & again, the nurses were absolutely amazing. So kind hearted, patient & nurturing. We can't thank them enough for looking after our daughter & myself. They helped me a lot today. Thank you Calvary & to the beautiful nurses
this hospital was nothing but a horrid experience. the staff were insanely disrespectful and didn’t care whatsoever about my mother or the pain she was in. the staff were very disorganised and some clearly didn’t know what they were doing half the time. no one there knew how to be friendly or how to smile, the only bundle of joy there was her surgeon and the nurse she had on the day she got discharged. if you want to be a nurse you at-least have to have some heart and care, which they didn’t have. one night she wanted her daughter to stay the night with her so she was more comfortable, and they had kicked her daughter out because of her age, which one of the staff had said the day before that she could stay the night and that it was completely fine. i wouldn’t recommend this hospital and wouldn’t want my worst enemy to stay there.
Thank you for the great experience i recive in your hospital from the start at reception till the end. Great people so friendly and working like a clock . Big thank you to Dr. Andrew Luck he is amazing, anaesthesiolog Dr. Sandy Hencok he did get 10/10and all the nurses in recovery they are amazing . Thanks again keep a great work.
Raised concerns at time with management, just want to review for anyone else that chooses here with their private health. They were very rude, i was in tears and this is now 2 years on and it was a horrible experience to fix a post birth complication and i was left looking after my premature babies in the day surgery ward because of a miscommunication. I just wanted to leave but had to be treated. You need an advocate or support person with you despite the lack of parking to attend.
I had a wonderful experience at Calvary North Adelaide. I found all staff I met so friendly, and I was always greeted with a smile and such warmth from the team from start to finish. I even felt like a celebrity walking into the operating theatre as the team greeted me with a smile and made me feel so welcome! Keep up the great work :
