This review is for the emergency dep only. This is my closest reasonable size hospital. My son has had to be admitted here a few times. I have the maximum respect for all the staff here... Triage through to Dr's and consultants.. well done and I know you all do an amazing job! That's what the 4 stars are for and if it was just an opinion on the staff it would be 5 stars. The only downside as with all reasonable size emergency departments around the country is the lack of staffing numbers and processing times. Not the staffs doing but that of federal and state government.
On or around the 18th August I had a minor procedure on my legs which require day surgery. Although I was very well looked after and the procedure seems a success, the only complaint was there was a processing problem which delayed the operation for a few hours. No problem there I understand that. However my sister and a friend was waiting at the hospital to pick me up. When I found about the delay I was sure to ask to let them know so they knew what was going on and not to worry but this did not happen. Just out of curiosity please let them know what was going on.
I have recently had to use A&E and also Plastics ward. I was absolutely so happy with my care from every single Specialist, Nurse and anyone else I dealt with. Thank you to everyone for making my experience so pleasant under the situation
BIG THANKYOU to all staff, surgeon, nurses, assistants and anyone involved in my hip replacement and recovery at this hospital on 5th of Dec 22. I was s#!t scared but the staff's kindness and reassurance was comforting and helped me get through this traumatic experience. It is now 5 weeks later and I am walking without a stick and free of the constant pain that I have had to deal with for 3 years. You guys are the best.
Was triaged to ED via my GP with a letter concerned about a blood clot.in my lung. Nurse arrogantly didn't even seek out triage letter.3 and 1/2 hours later I went to triage to ask what was happening- there she found the letter and said that is concerning but you still have 5 people in front of you.i declined to wait that long like a unwanted dog at the rspca and went home. The following evening with insistence and a push from my GP with my symptoms worsening I went to Flinders ED. A very full waiting room but I was prioritised with a ECG, and admitted into ED within 45 minutes. The Doctors and Nurses were amazing. All tests were done quickly to rule out blood clot in my lungs but I am now on blood thinners for 6 weeks due to a 12cm blood clot in my arm. Thankyou Flinders Medical Centre. No Thankyou to norlunga hospital my trust in your ED system is non viable.
This hospital needs to be VERY careful about who they hire as staff! I have literally been yelled at, chased, harassed and followed to my appointment by the old female on the front desk doing mask checks! She has NO identification whatsoever telling people who she even is! Even when exemption has been stated, she will ask to see a private and confidential document with ZERO credentials to do so, nor ID to identify HERSELF! This person yelled at me twice now in front of the entire entrance to hospital, then she proceeded to FOLLOW me to my appointment, then in which she confronted me in front of the entire waiting room full of people! I have video of her standing over me, harassing me to the point where my nurse had to step in to ask her to leave!! This harassment is impending my healthcare and is causing a great distress and triggers PTSD!! When I am finally able to identify this person I will be making a formal complaint against her! Harassment, negligence and breach of confidentiality are very Serious and will be taken as such! This is a business and discrimination is ILLEGAL!!
My uncle has heart failure and swollen legs staying at Noarlunga Hospital for a week. Meantime has done twice test Cov. with the result Negative, and the next day again, and now Positive. He is treated very badly, and regrets going to this hospital.
Heartbreaking update to post. Self admitted under suicide watch. Places on a hold. Attempted to discharge myself. When they told me they are going to sedate me I begged them not to put it in my toes. I am so traumatised and have been walking the streets trying to think of a crime to commit so I can go into police custody. Mark my words this won’t end here. that is not a threat. Is is a promise
Waited 3 hours with bad back pain. Staff out front were great! Female Doctor I saw told me more than twice that I need to quit smoking. In reality its really not her business as she was just my doctor during the hospital trip and it’s super hard for some people to just up and quit something that has been a habit for 3 years. Disappointed she felt the need to make comments about my lifestyle and habits when she didn’t mention anything about my weight which is more of an issue for my health than the smoking. Unfortunately had terrible experience after the visit. Received a $540 bill because Dr put it as “work related” which was incorrect. Went through about 4 different people via phone and numerous emails to finally get them to understand it wasn’t work related and Medicare should cover. Was constantly told there’s nothing they could do, I’d have to send a claim to work ready and they would have to deny the claim for it to go back to Medicare. Finally spoke to someone with terrible customer service and fill out a form to explain why I’m contesting. Worst service I’ve ever had. Makes me never want to visit again in case this ever happens!
9 on the pain scale sent me to this Hospital yesterday morning. From the first person who took my details to the last, everyone of these professionals dealt with me in the most respectful and patient manner. As the hours passed and the Hospital became more hectic the demeanour of the staff did not falter. There were frequent intercom calls for assistance in Emergency for Category 2 patients. This was an amazing experience. I can assume that the senior staff and management have grasped the golden rule to running a Hospital: Treat patients as you would like to be treated. Exemplary Best Practice. Thank you and well done.
