Last year after a service on my car while still under extended warranty with Nissan, My car leaked oil in on my driveway, when I complained they sent someone out to clean my garage floor and fix the car. It leaked again within a week and they sent someone out to clean it again and then they said bring it in. While still under extended warranty I recently took the car for a service at ultra tune and the Mechanic showed me a bolt that was being used as a sump plug. Instead of re-tapping it and putting a proper Nissan plug in their the Nissan Service department from indooroopilly put a massive makeshift bolt in it that could have potentially damaged the motor. It is about 3 x longer than the proper sump plug.

This is what you get when you buy a new Nissan Navara RX (4x2) SC - Rust in an area where no one looks. A week after I bought the Navara on 12/01/18 I saw some adverse reports on rust issues with Nissan and decided to take a closer look only to find rust inside both front wheel arches. I booked it in for a check at Aspley Nissan and was told that all new cars have rust. I immediately notified Nissan Gladstone where I bought it from and asked for a new vehicle without the rust or a refund. I then sent Nissan Aust. the photos and was asked if I had been driving on the beach. They then organised North Lakes Nissan to inspect the vehicle whereby I was handed a written report stating that it was not rust - no action required. Finally, they have told me that it is cosmetic, has no impact on safety or operation, I have to expect surface rust and no action is necessary on my part, therefore, it is not covered under warranty and they will not be offering a gesture of goodwill. Put simply - “Nissan take no responsibility and really don’t care”. My rights as a consumer have been denied as I would not have bought this vehicle had I known about the rust. They were aware of the rust and had a duty to inform me of the problem but deliberately chose not to. It has nothing to do whether the car is safe and operational. The facts are: be it surface rust or worse if it is left untreated rust can only get worse and dangerously worse in a beachside location. They also have an obligation to maintain the vehicle as it leaves the factory floor in the same condition until the point of sale which is a reasonable expectation. Sales Driven + Integrity Missing = Failure

I emailed twice over a week and a half to make an appointment with Nissan to get a part replaced under warrantee and a noise looked at that didnt sound good. The service consultant didn't give me a time and said "bring it in any time and we will do it" I had tried to get a time from her but she did not give me one. When I brought it in she said I should have given her more notice. What part of anytime didn't I understand? They replaced the warranty item but didn't look at the noise. 5 days later the vehicle broke down as a progression of the "noise", I called nissan care and a RACQ representative came, it appeared like a low battery but after jump starting it and replacing the battery the vehicle did the same thing. They put the old battery back and it was towed to Nissan Service Department at Indooroopilly. I figured it was the Air Conditioning that had seized up and was stopping the motor turning over as the A/C had stopped working a few days earlier. I wrote a detailed email to the service person I was talking to about how it is not the battery and probable the A/C compressor. The car was dropped off on Monday and on the Wednesday they said it is the battery. They said that they charged it and it was totally dead. I gave the ok to replace it. By Friday they said that it was the A/C and it would take time to get approval from nissan to replace it under warrantee. By the next tuesday they said I could pick it up, I came in to pick it up and they said that they had failed to order the extra parts that are required to fix the A/C. These will need some days now to be approved by Nissan. A week and 2 days had passed and they now gave me a courtesy car. Finally two weeks later I picked up the car. I drove over a speed bump and the car stopped working the contact came off the battery terminal. It was my old battery! I paid $308 for a new battery when I picked up the car and they had left the old one in there and it was unsecured and the terminal was not tightened which is why it failed to start after the speed bump. I secured it myself and went to Nissan to obtain a refund for my battery which was working perfectly other than it was unsecured. When I asked for a refund on battery all hell broke loose. They were committed to taking the battery that I paid for. I insisted on a battery check and the technician said the battery was perfect. I felt sorry for him because I could see he was under pressure from the service manager to say that it was faulty. The service manager would not refund the battery by the means which I purchased it (credit card) which is the requirement by law but rather took 3 weeks to transfer it after I had to ring Nissan Australia. Tristan the service consultant with Nissan Australia was cagey with me, he implied I was a problem customer and did everything he could to avoid taking responsibility for my Nissan experience. My old car battery is going fine.
