Une des meilleures auberges que j'ai faite depuis que je voyage 12 ans. Très bon emplacement à proximité de points d'intérêts. Check-in/out facile. Le personnel de la semaine est agréable et discret. Le garçon qui était là le samedi, un peu moins. Auberge à taille humaine. Nous étions dans une chambre twin, lits superposés avec un bureau. Pas de fenêtre mais bonne aération, ça ne nous a pas dérangé du tout. Tout est à disposition dans la cuisine au niveau des ustensiles, super agréable après avoir passé 6 mois en van ! Les sanitaires étaient propres et nettoyés tous les jours. Des sèche-cheveux à disposition, de nombreux espaces avec de la nourriture/objets/produits d'hygiène laissés par d'anciens voyageurs. Une laverie mais payante. Je recommande cette auberge, merci beaucoup !
Pour avoir fait le choix de passer 4 mois dans cet hostel, j'ai vraiment passé un bon moment. J'ai dormi dans plusieurs hostel dans Auckland et celui-là est vraiment le plus propre, la cuisine est impeccable, les sanitaires sont nettoyés assez régulièrement même si les douches peuvent être nettoyé plus régulièrement, c'est plutôt acceptable et ils passent l'aspirateur dans les chambres tous les jours. l'hostel est plutôt petit donc les interactions sociales sont fréquentes et sympas le salon est un très bon endroit pour faire connaissance et rencontrer d'autres backpackers. Ces 4 mois ont été super, je me suis senti comme chez moi, Merci Awa.
One of the worst hostels of my life. I ended up in a room with no windows. The bedroom door also opened without a key. The kitchen and common areas were small and always dirty. Cleaning was done randomly and not every day. When I was there, a lady who slept in the hostel was cleaning and for 2 days. Then she was never seen again and no one cleaned up again. The staff was really rude. The guy at the front desk kept chastising me for everything: cleaning a pan I had temporarily put down, a box without labels or name that I used to package some fresh fruit. Incredible! When several guests of the hostel were really dirty people and disrespectful of the common areas: those who left crumbs, traces of oil and frying, walking barefoot in the kitchen, eating and making a mess on the sofa... and the list goes on and on. I would never return to this hostel. Very dissatisfied.
Squeaky shaky metal ones the cheapest you can find. Cheap glued-together squeaky chairs. Bright lights right outside of every door. Poor ventilation in rooms.Rooms: 2/5
The customer service was attentive and understanding. I had certain personal unforeseen circumstances preventing me from staying at the hostel, we were able to resolve the issue with too many major issues.Service: 5/5
The hostel is a small one, which makes it very personal and easy to get in touch with people. I came originally for one week and at the end I stayed there for my total six month in Auckland. The manager is friendly and helpful. With the other people living there it felt like a family. I only missed a window in the eight bedroomRooms: 3/5
This place is totally fine. Clean bathrooms, nice guest rooms bigger ones have no windows, good vibes. Was only missing curtains at the beds. Such a cheap item which will make every traveller happy. Kitchen gets busy at rush hours. Next to K Road, 20 min walk to harbour, 10 min to bus terminal. Bad reviews obviously written by young folks who left home for the first time in their life.
Great experience overall. This hostel is by far the best in Auckland CBD based on making meaningful connections with fellow travellers, reasonable pricing for accommodation, cleanliness in toilet and kitchen area. The rules in the hostel are taken very seriously here example: no alcohol in the premise to ensure that all guests feel safe and undisturbed during their stay here. There aren't any windows in a 8 bedroom dorms. But they do have a window for 6 bedroom dorms. Awa, the manager at Newton Lodge is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It was really easy to talk to him and express any concerns that I may have about my stay. I highly recommend everyone to check out Newton Lodge hostel if they're looking for a hostel/hotel. Nearby activities: It's literally 1 minute walk from K-road. It's very convenient from the bars, restaurants and transportation stops. The only complaint that I might have is that you need to go up the hill on Upper Queen St when returning from City Centre.
L'auberge est petite mais convivial, j'étais dans une chambre à deux lits, le manque de fenêtre ne m'a déranger car il y a une bonne ventilation. Lit confortable, salle de bain mix individuel confortable également, toilettes avec de vrais porte donc top pour l'intimité ! Cuisine et salle à manger qui fait le taff avec toujours un petit truc pour partager à tout le monde manquerait peut être juste un frigo ou une étagère L'ensemble est dans un quartier calme pas de bruit de sirène ou de bruits de rue. L'ensemble des autres backpackers étaient très respectueux donc top !
I liked it here. The shared area is great for meeting the other people thanks to the kitchen and the living room. I stayed in a mixed room without windows. There's a small locker where you can put your valuables there's a key and you can put a lock too. There are several shower rooms and also toilets. There's a laundry room, 3$ for washing, 3$ drying. The location is good too. Near some Asian restaurants and also bars. Safety: The street you have to walk has some druggies and drunks so beware. But it's mostly safe and harmless.
