This hostel is in a great location and only minutes to the CBD. The staff and guests all relaxed and friendly, very similar to a large shared house. I would recommend this hostel to both families and individual travellers!

Stay away from this place if you can ! It’s dirty and stinky. There is a lot of long term staying people and it’s also very messy in the dorms. I was bitten by bed bugs and I kept the marks for almost two or three weeks ! We stayed only two nights and it was quite enough. It seems that young people in Working Holidays Visa have accommodation in exchange of few hours of work. I think it doesn't work so well everytime and the owners don't want to invest in the long-term to improve the hostel. Bathroom is very strange. It is very big, almost 12m2 for a shower and a toilet and for only one person at a time. Not very practical in an hostel. There could be 2 cabins showers and 2 toilets for the same space. The first dormitory on the left is strange also with an old kitchen still there but not working. And the first dormitory on the right is very very smelly. The positive things : Very well-located on Ponsonby Road ; Cheap (but not worth it) ; WiFi ok ; kitchen ok ; living room Ok. To sum up, if you like cleanliness and nice spirit, avoid this place. We don't recommend.

A nice place if one is looking for a budget place to stay to refresh & rest. Shops are walking distance and many cafes of sorts found along this street.

I stayed at this place a month ago and experienced it as a friendly spirited place with a tidy environment and facilities. The manager is taking great care of the hostel and the guests. And because of that i came back two days ago and it is still the same friendly spirited place and a great hostel!

Great location right on Ponsonby. Stayed in the dorm and the bunks we're clean. The host was nice and helpful.
