Friendly staff, comfy beds and a lovely garden. The sociable atmosphere made it for me, a place I could wander into the living room and have a conversation if I wanted to. The front door is very loud in the front 8 bed dorm if people forget the request to shut it quietly.

Reasonably priced accomodation. Shared toilets but you also get a shared kitchen, lounge, library and lively small garden thrown into it! Staff is not always there but make up for it when they are.

Stayed at the brown kiwi for nearly 2 weeks. As my first stop on my trip..Had a great time here. Met a lot of really nice interesting people. Really good vibes. Night manager Yann works super hard and is very helpfull. Hannes is lovely. Will miss it 😊

Great hostel! Stayed in a 4 bed dorm for $31 a night. Unlimited fast wifi. Clean facilities with a nice kitchen and shared indoor/outdoor lounge. Good location right off of Ponsonby with lots of nearby cafes, restaurants and bars.

My first hostel in New Zealand, I booked 2 nights and I ended up staying for one month, it's a lovely house with friendly stuff and well located.
