Myer Southland never disappoints!nLove my little shopping sprees here — always manage to find great discounted deals, cute LOL Surprise toys for my girl, and pretty home décor bits for the house. I traveled 30mins away from my house just because i love how Myer Southland better than any other Myers in Melbourne.
Staff was helpful, very decent selection, often carrying things that are sold out in other stores in the city, clean nice store
Had another easy shopping experience here in the kitchen department. Of note, a staff member named Dayan who saw me with my arms full and offered help. His attentiveness was appreciated and noticed by another customer.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have experienced. a day ago I had gone to this Myers in Southland with my family and my friend. While in the store, my friend and I decided to browse the makeup section that was located near the front of the store, while doing so I was thinking of getting a sale item and decided to hold onto it while I was waiting for my family. Later, I had decided to walk further into the store to find my parents while still holding onto the product, until a white middle-aged lady with blonde short hair wearing a black suit, red coloured lanyard was hovering around the makeup section, had come up to us and said in what felt like an annoyed and condescending tone that we would have to pay at the front of the store, even though It is known that you are allowed to hold onto unpaid items while browsing. After she had told me and my friend, we walked back to the makeup section and I called one of my family members to come to me as I was not able to walk around the store anymore so I could pay. While on call, I mention the fact that I believed this worker was profiling me and thought I was stealing, to which causes this same lady directly point at me while talking to another co-worker, which made me feel targeted and uncomfortable. When a family member had finally come to me, we tried to walk around to find a close register, and in doing so we could see that same worker lurking close and speeding up to catch up to us. When we did find a register, the lady had gotten a bit close to the point my family member confronted her as we felt very uncomfortable, and afterwards she went to her co-worker with a smug look on her face which was rude and made us feel disrespected. Once we did pay for the product, we went to Clinique to check out more makeup, and it soon felt like that same worker had remained following us even though we had paid as we could see her lurking around us again. Due to this, it caused me to become so annoyed and disrespected that I had to show the receipt so she could finally leave us alone. Overall, my experience was truly disappointing as I had never felt this disrespected and uncomfortable at a store before.
Wow, what a negative experience today. I needed to buy a nice navy jacket for an upcoming event, with a budget of $500. I decided to take my time to look around at all the different brands, examining the various jackets for its quality, price and fitting. I finally came across a nice Country Road jacket, lovely textured weave and not the glossy type that real estate men seems to adorn as part of the industry uniform. The section was devoid of staff but it didn't bother me as I knew what I was looking for. Suddenly a loud rather stern announcement came over speaker that attention was required at Country Road section, and in a matter of a few seconds, a staff came rushing over asking if I needed help. I politely said no and looked around to see if there was anybody else in the area, to which there was none. After inspecting the jacket for any blemishes I proceeded to look for an accompanying shirt. Now, in my experience staff usually attend to you promptly or they just ignore you, but I found the staff who stopped by earlier was now watching me, not surreptitiously but with intent. Excuse my paranoia but the experience was outright profiling my being, my presence and actions. I was being watched, meanwhile the department was becoming busy with other customers wanting attention, but I was under physical surveillance. Despite the experience, I bought the jacket and on my way out I was about to raise the bird to the ceiling camera but realise I was being childish. Ho hum.
