Montacute Boutique Bunkhouse is a multi award-winning boutique hostel in the heart of Hobart's historic village of Battery Point.

Story

Montacute offers a range of private and shared rooms, including:

Private double rooms
Private 2-bed bunkrooms
Shared bunkrooms
Female-only bunkrooms

All beds at Montacute have a quality inner spring mattress, crisp cotton sheets, warm duvet/doona, soft woollen blanket, fluffy towel, reading lamp, powerpoint and free wifi.

Montacute also has spacious communal areas, including a large kitchen, dining room with table for 20, lounge with open fire, balconies with mountain views, BBQ deck and garden with picnic tables.

I promise you, that’s the best place to stay in Hobart! It’s a cute little hostel near the center. Everything is totally clean and cozy. They have a beautiful balkony with a stunning view over mount Wellington. The kitchen is also clean and there is a good cooking equipment. It’s worth spending a bit more for that hostel!

Spacious rooms, comfy bed, car parking, good value. Perhaps the biggest gripe is the poor sound insulation. You can hear people stomping through hallways, stairs, chitter chatter. Bring earplugs!

Stayed in a private room and it was the most comfortable bed I've slept in in Tassie over the month or so I've been here. Charming old house, cute dogs, friendly people. A stone's throw from Salamanca.

Nice hostel, clean showers and toilets. Windows in the rooms could use new insulation, the wind howls through and the rooms tend to get cold in winter and spring. Kitchen is good. I had a lot of other guests who were very quiet. Not much talking with others. Staff is very friendly.
