Marrickville Aquarium

This aquarium shop is ok when the owner's son is running the store. If owner or his wife are running the store then don't expect any great detailed advice as English isn't their first language and they come across as adrupt. Tanks aren't spotless and could do with a wipe down and their aquatic plants have seen better days. Great if you're running out of fish food and near more in a hurry.

Dirty environment for Fish and Customers. High Risk of spreading disease.Price is good though.

Dark and dank shop; it feels like going into a dungeon. The fish look ok, not much variety and not really anything to display as a centre piece to make the shop very appealing to customers.

Interesting reading others' comments.. yes, good and bad. Very good and very bad in the same shop. Good prices and reasonable range. Got some of my happiest fish from there. Bad service, bad communication and knowledge. Lady who knows less is friendlier, but man is super grumpy and don't like answering questions, but he is patient in getting you the fish you want, I give them that. Would love to give more stars but 2 is all they deserve because of service. I would continue to buy from there but only because I succumb to the lure of the cheaper prices. Will try to minimise verbal contact as much as possible to maintain my sanity I think. Some fish can be 40% less than big shops.
